  1. Good luck with it. 🙂 With mine, the thread inside the pullers was stripped. The issue with the thumbwheels is that I think there's a lip where they contact the bridge body there; the plastic washers might work. The replacement one I got was badly made and the lid over the puller cavity sat too low, so the pullers wouldn't retract inside. I put vaseline on the screw threads, which makes operation a bit smoother. The guitar neck's one also has issues. I guess there's a reason why the quality units cost a lot more.
  2. That green is just right.
  3. I've got a Steinberger Spirit - that's quite light. Slightly up-market, my Status Graphite wooden necked S1 is quite light.
  4. It's all a question of scale.
  5. That wasn't a real Status body, I hope!
  6. Right - I think it's built! I have to tune it, plug it in, and do a set-up before it's fully finished.
  7. Now that'd be a tragic mistake. Phew; it's finished and now I can just take of the clamps... ...hang on... ...oh bugger!
  8. I think it's what they call Midnight Blue, which has a bit of sparkle to it too. The person who had it before fitted a Zero-Mod thumbrest, which is only "zero-mod" if the instrument already had two holes in it for a pickguard. As it is, the two holes are the white dots you can see in the picture and they need tidying up. Then I got to thinking about a refin and thought duotone/flip-flop/chameleon/iridescent paint might look good; pretty much replicating and enhancing the shadow effect in the photo...
  9. It'd be a Rickenbacker... (Sorry for polluting the thread...)
  10. I have a hankering to have a bass finished in duotone blue/black.
  11. I think Rickysounds do some real Ric ones - dunno if they'll fit or not.
  12. I've had a hankering to put one of those pickups in the mute bay on a Rickenbacker, but they're just a bit too wide to fit.
  13. A good condition Sharfty is worth £500+
  14. No, I don't think so. The Shafty necks tend to be a bit more chunky than the Ric ones. (The old-style truss-rods allowed the neck to be thinner, because they didn't need curves in the rod(s).)
  15. Y'know - I've never thought of putting the control panel on the back! (I have a pickup on a MIM Strat.)
  16. Don't tell anybody, but I bought a Rickenbacker off 6feet7!
  17. I've been thinking of taking up the 5-string...
  18. That fretboard removal was very uplifting!
  19. Wrong kind of slapper!
  20. There's a YT video of someone removing the neck binding.
  21. OK - you got a LOL from me there! 🤣
  22. Nor me neither (the bridge/tailpiece don't seem quite right), so not sure if the Warwick is a like-for-like comparison. There are AliExpress ones (much cheaper), but I didn't spot this colour.
  23. The sheer brass-neck of it!
