  1. I see you've popped over to the fakers group. 🙂 My not-dissimilar faker (black not fg, though).
  2. Stereo Sound on jack plate, thru-neck, but gap on binding is narrower than a real Ric, surprisingly no control knob position dots on pickguard (is it a replacement pickguard?), typical generic Japanese tuners, round holes in tailpiece string feeds, screw-through strap buttons.
  3. I had a Carlsbro Stingray back in the day; sounds came out of it, but otherwise it had no redeeming features.
  4. The best thing about it is the logo on the headstock. That pickup cutout is pretty grim.
  5. Yep, dunno why people do fretless conversions.
  6. I've already got a TS9, a Boss SD, and a Joyo clone, otherwise I would've had this!
  7. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Musicma-Stingray-30th-Ann-Bass-Body-And-Neck/303450791101 Only 800 squids.

  9. Plus shipping from Germany seems to be more expensive than from the US & China.
  10. Funnily enough, I painted the base of my pooped treble pickup black too, after I mounted whatever pickup it was onto it. The other option would've been to fit a Hipshot (or Ric) bridge and keep its original lifted one for posterity.
  11. The problem was that the bobbin's plastic degraded and became brittle and just broke up; I think the pickup was straight - that may be just the photo. I checked my notes and it was a Greco (proper Ric-style) pickup I put in it, which I got on the fakers group 🙂 .
  12. My Mat's treble pickup disintegrated on me. (I posted this in the FB fakers group too.) I used the base to mount another pickup on, but I think I may have sold the bass on with a real Ric pickup in it.
  13. Re. microphonic - is it both pickups that do that? Maybe that's why RIC shifted to using a plastic base for the treble pickup (either that or they used up their stock of aluminium sheeting).
  14. There’s a great video of the three of them sitting down over dinner and drinks.
  15. I remember Geddy Lee saying that he found the NME article particularly offensive, as his parents were holocaust survivors. For me, Rush were just painting pictures and you can acknowledge someone’s genius without buying into their ideology. As for the NME, I think that my preferences had diverged from their agenda already by then.
  16. Cool - that’ll be interesting to see. I have a Mat too.
  17. There can't be anybody who believes that is a Fender.
