  1. I think they are the best looking, sounding, and playing bass ever made. (But then again, I'm a Ricaholic...)
  2. Damned good singer, Bonnet!
  3. A legend in their own lunchtimes.
  4. So, what is so great about The Beatles?
  5. Good yes, but not name-uttered-with-hushed-intake-of-breath great AFAIK.
  6. Yep - I came to that conclusion last night and ordered one! I tried swapping one string's worth of the parts from one of my Steinberger Spirits and they fitted, but it started grinding too, so it looks like the housing is affected as well, so better to just swap the whole thing (and keep the parts from the defunct one).
  7. If the tuners ever feel like they’re grinding.
  8. Yep - I need to keep my eye out for a used one. I think the previous owner had the strings too long and so overtightened the tuner.
  9. It was 3rd hand when I got it. I took off the zero-mod. (I tried it on a 4003 but didn’t like it.)
  10. Darn - it wasn’t just the screw, so I need a pull/claw thing.
  11. That's a score, then!
  12. It's a wind-up!
  13. Mainstream has always been pap. Some of the rap stuff gets pretty edgy and who knows what the shouty metal bands are singing about? But "official" music isn't as big as it was back in the 80s.
  14. Maybe we could throw jam instead?
  15. I think all the acts were brilliant! 🙂
  16. Little Simz was good. But I skip over the bits where he drags in some artiste "featuring me on the piano".
  17. Yep - that's my mission for today!
  18. Aha! It is the thread on the screw, not in the block. I took a closer look and noticed a hex socket in the opposite end of the thumb wheel. So I undid it. Looking inside there was a cross head screw top. So I got my screwdriver and unscrewed it TIL it came right out. The bolt part of the tuner is just a cheap bolt with a knurled knob on the end! I’ll be off to the DIY shop tomorrow to see if I can find one.
  19. I've just picked up an aliexpress doubleneck headless and one of the tuners in the "Overlord Of Bass" branded bridge unit has stripped its thread. Any suggestions on repair, replace, or compatible parts?
  20. I think Andertons (Guildford) do Trace Elliot, so they might be able to advise.
  21. I'm not sure what wood it is, but there's a Peter Cook Mighty Mite bass body which keeps appearing on some selling sites. It originally had the neck too, but I guess they sold that.
  22. Good delivery!
  23. That's one to take away...
  24. I use aluminium food trays - they’re easy to cut to strips and double over to get the required thickness.
