  1. It looks a nice guitar, but if it was made for Jimmy Page and is (tentatively) authenticated by his guitar tech, then why doesn't it belong to Jimmy Page? https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/gibson-1960-les-paul-custom-shop-made-for-jimmy-page-1992-sunburst/1331567300 (Either way, I haven't got a spare £20k, so I think I'll give it a miss.)
  2. Nope - if you zoom in you can see the pickup's aluminium base and also the walls of the pickup well.
  3. I've got a 6-way switch which I'll be wiring up one bass to give 3-way single coil and 3-way humbucker.
  4. 1. It looks right to me, based on the nut slots; of course, the angle of the photo makes it appear off. 2. Yes, crikey! Can you tune that?
  5. My '78 does and my '72 has a toggle switch.
  6. I've got two as well. (And an EVO 1 amp.)
  7. I've been doing a bit more work on it today...
  8. Yes; it's important that a man gets his priorities right!
  9. I've decided mine is going to have the black SD one, possibly today...
  10. I did work down the pit, though I already had my first Ric.
  11. Thanks - that's my current project; it's probably going to get the SD & black surround off the '72 fireglo (which I'm reverting to stock). The pickguard was a bit crooked in the picture, as it is a 2-part one and was only held on with two screws and a bit of tape, just to see what it looked like vs. a white one and a brass one (from @Beedster). With the pair of humbuckers I'll be putting on a Freeway 6-position switch. I do have an issue to resolve first, though, as the bridge won't go low enough just now.
  12. Masochist to sadist: Please beat me. Sadist to masochist: No...
  13. Ric prices are very variable at the moment; I bought a jetglo 2010 4003 for £1k last month.
  14. Yep - I was chatting with the new purchaser (they just outbid me); it was from the same seller I bought my midnight blue Laredo from too!
  15. You have to tell it like your experience. The rules are that the seller pays return postage, which is a bit of a ballbreaker if the item is mis-described. I once complained to ebay about that and they covered my postage as a gesture... In my case, it was as described and I collected (I sometimes let my purchases plan my day out for me), so I knew what I was getting.
  16. Cool - you outbid me; I put in a speculative bid even though I don't really need an 8th Ric. Mine was the one with the Zero-Mod fitted and I've no complaints; I went and collected personally.
  17. Looks like she's having a clearout; I bought a Rickenbacker from her last year (and she had another of them which finished yesterday).
