  1. He also tells rubbish jokes at Bass Bash challenges!
  2. Darn - I just bought one; it arrived today!
  3. Thanks - the bass now has its neck attached. And a set of (old) strings on it. Next step is some pickups. This is it and its pals.
  4. How about stringing the bass BEAD?
  5. Seems like a lot of faff to me, when you could just get a decent budget 5-string.
  6. I've got an Elf too; I took it to the SE Bass Bash and tried it through a little Eden 1x12 cab I was thinking of buying from one of the other folks - it sounded good and I bought the cab.
  7. I remember when my Trace kit seemed compact compared to my outgoing Burman Pro 4000 HD valve amp & two Marshall 4x12s. I've now got a Markbass head & a pair of 1x12s, but I haven't gigged them. I've still got my Trace head (just an AH-150, plenty good enough for pubs & clubs) with a 2x10 & 1x15 cab.
  8. Back in time I used to use a set of bass pedals and could play a D and C on them if I wanted to go low.
  9. Dropping the bottom-E to a C might flap a bit with a Hipshot. I quite like 5-strings, though.
  10. No worries 🙂 If I was looking for a rack unit, you'd be hearing it anyway!
  11. Cheers, Andy - back at you for prompt payment!
  12. I think Warwick grew out of Framus; Framus was originally by the father and then the son set up Warwick. EDIT: Doh! should've read the entire thread before posting...
  13. The one thing about disco is Stayin' Alive is apparently the right beat for if you need to do CPR.
  14. Thanks very much - PM'd. The body had 2 bushings and was missing two. Yes, I checked them on the Warwick site, but the postage is £10, which is more than the items and the budget is tight on rebuilding an RB...
  15. I've got a Warwick RB 5-string bass body and neck for a project... My first task is to find some screws to attach them together. Now, Warwick do sell them, but the postage is more than the parts and I really need to keep to a sensible budget since it's an RB. Any ideas where to get Warwick parts in the UK?
  16. Not as dodgey as this one... https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/red-fender-guitar/1328144052
  17. I guess the gist of the thread is that everybody thought there should be more in each programme about the particular items they are interested in. If the programme makers are watching this, they must be thinking there's a few series worth of material to cover!
  18. I thought it picked out the effects (amp, recording, pedals) which really shifted the guitar from being an amplified acoustic which could be heard to a much more versatile instrument. Punk and grunge were really just short-lived fads, which were of their time but came and went much like flower power, glam rock, disco, and boy bands.
  19. New phone, just getting to grips with the camera.
