  1. You have to learn not to do it...
  2. Nice chatting and cheers for getting the book out to me so quickly!
  3. (It was slightly tongue in cheek;-) )
  4. So, how many folk are going to go and see them just to check out the new bridge?
  5. I bought a Westone Thunder for well under £200 last month. Which would you prefer - that or any HB?
  6. Is the Jazz an Encore copy?
  7. £220 for a knackered cheap copy with a fake Fender logo.
  8. My first Ric cost me £220.
  9. In all honesty, any £2k bass should be of decent quality.
  10. And a 2013.
  11. Here’s some pics, though...
  12. I’ve looked at Sandbergs and other Fender-a-likes, but nope. Itll be difficult to prove either way from photos. Any bass bashes coming up?
  13. I think he’s left the company.
  14. I mean the lacquer. But I would put my 2010 4003 against anything else for quality too.
  15. I'm in! 15. prowla - Rics, Warwicks, Statii (whatever I chuck in the car!), Markbass EVO 1 & 1x12. Maybe a Minitaur & 12-step (if I've got 'round to figuring out the 12-step by then). The only bad thing about the event is that it has me looking forward to Summer being over. It looks like a full weekend for me, as I plan to go to the Trafalgar event at Bisley on the Saturday. In fact, October is a busy month guitar-wise, as there are also Northampton and Kempton guitar fairs (6th & 27th).
  16. I usually take one or two to the Bass Bashes I go to; I've been to the SE and Midlands ones.
  17. Whenever I see a band, if there's a Ric bass there, then that's what my eyes go to.
  18. Rics have the best finish of any production bass.
  19. Just take a close look at the bridge...
  20. It would - it is a genuine Fender part, as it left the factory.
  21. I've got a partsblaster P-Bass, which has a Squier body, a MIM neck, Badass bridge, Fender tuners & a Hopshot eXtender, Fender USA pickups, and my wiring harness (CTS/ Switchcraft/ Sprague). It sounds and plays really well, a proper Precision grind!, and I'd have to see something very special to replace it! I had it at the last SE Bass Bash. In general, if I were looking to upgrade a P, I'd be looking for a set of US pickups, or maybe trying the Geezer ones.
  22. I've put real Ric pickups on a faker before. I've got SD pickups on a Ric, too.
  23. Generally you lose the headstock to make the overall instrument shorter; this one has the length of a headstock plus more added to the body's length. Well, when I say the body - it's just an outline around the central plank. Incidentally, on that theme, I tried a Yamaha Silent Guitar the other day and I could hear it quite clearly - what the heck's that about???
  24. I know someone who is on perpetual lookout for a Black Eagle pickguard. Seems a shame to have split one up for a project, though.
  25. Tat made me look up this one...
