  1. A lot of folks seem to be trying to shift Squier to a more upmarket price range...
  2. Greco are the brand which gave rise to the "better than the original" mantra. I wouldn't pay that much for one, but I think some folks probably would.
  3. First rule (which I never follow!) is: use the right sized screwdriver & spanner for the job! It is really difficult to mess up a bolt-on neck, TBH. There are also the general rules of how to do a setup (truss rod, neck angle, string height, intonation) - there are videos on youtube.
  4. He's got to cover his overheads, mate...
  5. There is a guitar maker who sometimes burns Ric copies...
  6. Not sure if I ever will either... ...mind you, I have got 7 of them.
  7. Facebook, gumtree, ebay.
  8. The black machines are Ebay cheapies.
  9. The neck could be a Squier with the name scraped off.
  10. Nashnul Elf.
  11. Perfect for a Rammstein gig!
  12. I wouldn't pay that if Steve Harris personally delivered it.
  13. Well, I just bid it above £50, but then got outbid. I've got parts for that and/or can use parts off it on another project...
  14. Not great for Strats either!
  15. The modern day equivalent of playing a tennis racquet...
  16. Pah - the sticker's worth more than that!
  17. I thought maybe you'd had a sudden turnaround!
  18. Might keep an eye out for them...
  19. Yep - that one's been up before...
  20. Wot - you’re getting a Ric???
  21. Another great day out! I really enjoyed Pete's talk - a sort of friendly informal chat with lots of interesting anecdotes and snippets of information.
  22. Doors open at 9, official start at 10.
  23. RIC seem to have mellowed - there have been several copies on ebay of late which haven't been taken down.
  24. Curiously, here supports selling fake Fenders - it's just not Rics (real or fake) which are allowed.
  25. I've got, or have owned, several fakers; which are perfectly legal to own. Since taking the pic I've sold the outer two there - they are Hondo II (the treble pickup is too near the bridge); that was completely legal too, as they were manufactured before the design trademarks were registered by RIC. I do like these vintage fakers, for their historical interest, and with their original brand logos. The current Chickenbackers are illegal to sell and I don't like them neither...
