1.
Its made of ash rather than alder It has a different shaped tummy cut (sort of longer along the top) Its a nitro finish rather than poly like a standard Mexican Oh and yes its Mexican
Cheers - thanks for the info.
 2. Is there anything significant about a Nate Mendel body versus a standard Precision (just asking, not passing comment!)?
 3.
A left handed Warwick? I'm thinking someone was in hog heaven Double P pickup for the win.
He said he had a pair of them made for him by Warwick; the pickups are based on his Warwick Buzzard. He did a lot more work with the volume controls than most bass players and the bass seemed to keep its sound regardless.
 4.
Many thanks to the organisers another cracking day, motorway issues aside. Steve Lawson was the highlight of the day for me, I'd have sat and listened to him talk all day. Will have to check out some of his records, some Uriah Heep too - though as an Opeth fan I should have done that ages ago.
The Heep albums with the Roger Dean covers are the best, IMHO. That said, I haven't really heard the newer stuff. But I might - I quite liked Davey's playing.
 5. Well, I'm home now! I really enjoyed it - met a load of great people, played & saw some interesting basses. Sign me up for next year! (Just off to learn a couple of Uriah Heep songs now...)
 6.
Turns out they're not idiot-proof! Mk 1 & 1A are great bargains considering the quality, shame the through-neck 2 & 3 tend to be more in line with other similarly built Matsumokus. Always fancied a 2xP Thunder 2.
My first thought was "What an idiot!". Not only have they done an awful job of relicing, but they've also taken the logo off the headstock. Mind you, it's cheaper than this one: http://www.ebay.co.u...5.c100005.m1851
 7. Fender do their own branded version too; they're not so expensive either. Edit: Oops - just saw discreet's link! The extra £10 shipping is a bit much, but I have seen one of the Fender ones in the UK, and it seemed to me to be really good value.
 8.
Spoke to Ian he agrees, it's too big a job for the day. Sorry..
That's OK - it just happens to be something I've got on the go at the moment. (I might bring along my Partscaster and/or SG for a setup - space in car permitting!)

Please add to this list if you're bringing any items to the Bash that you have for sale...
I'm debating this one; it is gorgeous, but I haven't played it in months. Spec: Warmoth body, Status Graphite neck, Badass bridge, Schaller tuners & Hipshot eXtender, John East J-Retro. Around the £800 mark. Still undecided, though, as I do like it.
 10.
Ian said: "Does he mean the binding is coming off and wants it glued on. Or adding binding?"
Hi - no binding at all. The previous-but-one owner removed it! I'm thinking it might be too big a job for one day, though...
 11. I once acquired a slightly warped scratchplate; I heated it in the oven and let it coll between a couple of books - it came out OK but not perfect.
 12. I used to have a Washburn Status, but its neck always felt a bit chunky to me, in all honesty.
 13. The 12th fret should be at mid-point between the nut and the bridge saddles. The easiest way to check this without a ruler is to see where the (12th fret) harmonic lies; it should be exactly over the 12th fret and exactly the same pitch.
 14.
. Everyone is a critic!
GLWTS
 15.

(Also the brand is Squier...)
 16. I've probably only played a dozen Rics, so still 88 to go...
 17. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Fresher basses back in the 70s, along with Columbus and Grant. (I had a Columbus...)
