1. I've never really followed pop music and detest "Top 10" style lists; I honestly couldn't say who is in the charts right now. There are lots of recorded live shows on Sky Arts and other channels, typically from archives, as opposed to current live performances.
2. This is a bit old, but doing the rounds again. He's rambling on about Roger Glover, but RG still has a Ric. He also mentions Geddy Lee; Geddy still has his. He bought one in '75 for $700; I bought one in '77 for £220 (it wasn't new, though). I used Rotosound Swing Bass strings on mine. It kindof pleases me that the RIc bridge upsets him. The bridge is just a variation on the tune-o-matic and people don't complain about Gibson height adjustment. Once it's done it's done; it's not like you're twiddling with the intonation every day, is it? He doesn't like the machines - ho-hum. "Rickenbacker do not publish any setup specs" - I thought they said the neck straight? He can't find the right wrench for the truss rods - heck, maybe he needs to check his tools... But when he gets his act together, he does acknowledge the two truss rod adjustment. He seems to like the Ric sound and can handle "Anthem". He makes a comment about the difference in volume between the two pickups, but that's a characteristic; if you use stereo/Ric-o-Sound it doesn't matter. Of course, the more recent ones have the vintage/modern switch to give you the choice. For me, the Ric is the best looking, best made, best finished, best sounding bass there is. Blaming it for being different is kindof missing the point.

4. A photo might help. Some of the Japanese ones had fragile treble pickups and I've seen a Jazz one in one as a replacement.
5. I've been thinking about getting one of these and restoring it.
6.
I can see your point, which is one of the main reasons I went for the Sub Phatty and not for e.g. the Minitaur. The Minitaur has presets but you can't see which one you're using. But I've fiddled with both the Voyager and the Model D, and I find the knob layout of the Model D way easier to understand.
I've got a Minitaur; it is a little bit one-dimensional and is limited to the lower octaves, but what it does is great.
7. So, I've picked this up in a state of disrepair; I've hopefully got a replacement body on the way and will then set about getting it back to what it should be.
8.
Oh sorry, yes I have them, they were still screwed into my amp, there's 4 in total, my older LMK has 2 holes each side. I'm guessing some LMK's have three each side given the ears have three holes.
OK - great (yes, mine has 3 in a triangle on each side). Paypal?
9.
Only thing is the G string is a new roundwound it seems, and the others are all original flatwounds. Sucks, anyone selling a forty year old flatwound g string?
Back in the day, I had Rotosound roundwounds on mine.
10.
Hi, i have 4 spare rack screws I can throw in, you will need a few more though. Just standard size rack screws.
Thanks - I meant the ones to attach them to the amp?
11.
Strung out guitars in Glasgow have one of these for £229!! It looks in good nick and has had a set up but it`s a bit pricey? Still it "has a cool relic look."
Bloomin 'eck - that is creative pricing!
12.
Corr, nice surprise! Cheers for the info guys, it's definitely bashed up and needs lots of work but I'll try work on it. Haha, sounds decent enough, here are some pics! http://imgur.com/a/jaa3y
Looks good - straight honest wear & tear.
13. My first bass was one of those; it did good service til I bought a Ric. £30 sounds a good deal; I would've paid that on the spot. I don't know what it's worth in the current market (really crap ones seem to be worth money just now, but I'm not sure about half-decent ones!). As for the silence it could be duff wiring, failed pots or failed pickups; finding out and fixing it is part of the fun with these old basses.
14. Another way would be to wire the bass stereo, so the pickups go to separate amps or a mini-mixer (but that's effectively just an offboard pre-amp, if you think about it).
15. There are some real spongers about!
16. Yep - it's like cherry red, but with a smile!
17. I've got Badass II bridges on my P & J-basses.

19. Shame it's got a Fender logo on the headstock, though.
