  1. It's my opinion, not a demand! I look at the buy & sell pages on a lot of sites and I tend to pass by the ones which don't have the info readily available; if things don't at least show a price, location, and photos, then I'll probably move on. I don't know about pain of life, but if you want to sell something, it's probably an idea to make it easy for your potential buyers.
  2. Yep - that's it.
  3. I like to see whether it's nearby, for collection. If I see something I like, I'd want to try it, but finding it's in Aberdeen (I'm in Berks) means it's a no-go. Same with wanteds - someone might be after something and I might have one I'm not sure about selling, so I could say pop around and have a look-see.
  4. Pots are easy to replace, if needs be. But it may not even need that; sometimes the nut holding the pot to the scratchplate comes loose and turning the knob turns the whole pot, which then causes the wire to break off at some point - that's an easy fix!
  5. It's a shame, because there was some really useful information there.
  6. My first thought was Grant, but I have no hard details. The bridge cover looks like it's a replacement, as those 70s ones came with the full-size cover and you can see the screw holes. I had a Columbus back in the day and this one doesn't seem familiar.

    Odd balls

Here's one I picked up last year: Status Graphite neck. Warmoth body. Badass II bridge. Schaller tuners + Hipshot eXtender. J-Retro preamp. (Not sure what pickups are.) Straplocks. I did have a fretless version of it too, but I sold that.
  8. I think at least putting the county should be a requirement for ads.
  9. My Shaftesbury: Now has a Ric bridge and binding (pending collection).
  10. A conversation is but a transitory thing...
  11. Cluseau?
  12. Yep - playing my white Ric through that, I used to glide forwards even when I was standing still.
  13. I was fit as f*** back then! With that and my bass in a flight case, every day was a workout.
  14. Sure - no doubting it's a compromise; I don't think anybody is saying otherwise. (I used to have two Marshall 4x12s to go with that Burman too!)
  15. Well, I first tried one at the Olympia show in March and I really liked it and pretty much knew I'd get one if the opportunity arose. I then had a go on TheGreek's at the bass bash and I liked it. I then saw one when I was killing time in Birminham before a gig last month, but they said it was £299 and it was just on closing time. ebay had a 20% off offer earlier in the week, which took it to under £200, so I bought it. I don't know if that's flavour of the month or what. I've got a TE graphic amp and 1x15 & 2x10 cabs, so it kindof fits. For me the Elf seems to be what it says on the tin.
  16. Well, I think it's a product which was waiting to be done. I used to have a Burman valve amp in the 70s; it was a beast and weighed lawd knows now much. I've now got a (possibly) more powerful one which will fit in my pocket. It's never going to be the backine at Glastonbury, but then again I never am either. For me it's a step towards making my living room tidier...
  17. It seems to be OK.
