1.
Strung out guitars in Glasgow have one of these for £229!! It looks in good nick and has had a set up but it`s a bit pricey? Still it "has a cool relic look."
Bloomin 'eck - that is creative pricing!
2.
Corr, nice surprise! Cheers for the info guys, it's definitely bashed up and needs lots of work but I'll try work on it. Haha, sounds decent enough, here are some pics! http://imgur.com/a/jaa3y
Looks good - straight honest wear & tear.
3. Hi. I'd like your LM ears - do they include the screws? Thanks!
4. My first bass was one of those; it did good service til I bought a Ric. £30 sounds a good deal; I would've paid that on the spot. I don't know what it's worth in the current market (really crap ones seem to be worth money just now, but I'm not sure about half-decent ones!). As for the silence it could be duff wiring, failed pots or failed pickups; finding out and fixing it is part of the fun with these old basses.
5. Another way would be to wire the bass stereo, so the pickups go to separate amps or a mini-mixer (but that's effectively just an offboard pre-amp, if you think about it).
6. There are some real spongers about!
7. Yep - it's like cherry red, but with a smile!
8. I've got Badass II bridges on my P & J-basses.
9. 10. Shame it's got a Fender logo on the headstock, though.
11.
These Flee Bass s are doing the rounds seems there has been one for sale ever week for the whole of this year Ha Ha Ha I feel a fire coming on
I've been thinking of getting one and restoring it.
12. I had one Warwick and the neck was too chunky for me, to the point I hurt my finger trying to play it. I have another one now and it is a lot better. I have seen a Warwick neck on ebay, last year; I nearly bought it. I reckon if you're going to go to the lengths of having a custom neck made, you might as well go for a whole new bass!
13. 3x the price Warwick charge: https://shop.warwick.de/?&lang=en&modul=shop_new&site=shop_overview&&ctree=D0405358001321517424A43801|D0936787001489054649A277|D0270632001490715113A488&modul=shop&site=article_details&article_id=D0347642001472733943A74969&article_category=D0270632001490715113A488&collection_id=D0385287001341588826A1241
14.
It's a really easy going format on the day normally... Come along, bring some of your gear if you want to, chat with other Basschatters if you want to, listen to other people play, try out some new gear if you want to, have a jam in the Jam Room if you want to, etc, etc.. An keen interest in 'all things bass' and a very friendly vibe is the order of the day really.
Right - it's in my calendar! I might bring along my '64 Ric for an outing.
15. Oh - I was going to suggest a Badass, but I guess it's a no to that!
16. What's the general format? Bring your favourite bass, have a chat, maybe plug it in? Or come along and watch other people?
17. That has to be a good buy! Unfortunately, I've been spending a bit too much recently and really need to thin out my collection now, as I've overdone it. OTOH, I've about to pull the trigger on selling a CMI Matsumoku Ric copy which is going to be a bit more than this one...
18. Hmmm - I'm not sure if it's my thing or not, but it'd be interesting to find out!
19.
Been there, done that. They are very nice. I bought it with money left over from my 2nd year university grant. Sorry kids.
I bought a Fender Strat with my 1st year Uni grant :-).
20. I've got two Status 5-strings; shame I don't need another!
21. Nice bass!
22.
Sweet. Knew the Faker bug would get you again!
I got it in a job-lot; I have to say that most of the fun for me is in doing them up, so I'm not sure how long I'll keep this one. I've given it the once-over, replaced a couple of knobs, tweaked the rods and need to do a bit more setup and that's pretty much it done.
23. I've just passed the link on to a colleague at work who was saying today that he wants a travel bass...
