I've stepped away from eBay, as I'm fed up with being told counterfeit items weren't in violation of their policy, plus they're going to add a buyers fee to sales starting this week. I used to auto-run a browser window with several tabs of searches ready to view on starting my PC, but I've stopped it. Maybe others are looking elsewhere too.

I've got the Rush "Studio Recordings" box sets (from around 2014) and they had HD versions of some of the albums, which are quite good. I also prefer/collect the "mini-LP" versions of CDs versus the jewel-case and digipack ones, so they ticked that (ahem) box. I am slowly picking up HD versions of albums, be they DVD/Blu-Ray or from HD Tracks; some of them are better to my ears, but others aren't much of an improvement (Black Sabbath's mixes have Ozzy too loud and the drums lost, whilst Led Zeppelin's are a bit too trebly). I have to say the Giles Martin remixes of The Beatles albums are really worth checking out (on plain CD).

Just a sub-note to the power to loudness; that's all other things being equal and the speakers not limiting, cables being transparent, etc. Not saying it's wrong per-se, but just beware of things which don't state the assumptions being made. There's another saying that 10dB is twice as loud. But I've also seen 10x Watts = twice as loud (ie. 1000W = twice as loud as 100W); that's why a 50W valve amp can sound surprisingly loud!

That's interesting - I'd like a usable & reliable pre/power setup. The Sumo is a weird shape though; I suppose it might fit in a rack behind a shallow pre-amp.

On a point of order, I don't think Ibanez make instruments; they commission manufacturers like Fujigen & Cort to make the instruments for them.

eBay don't care about fakes anymore; I received the following response when I reported some counterfeit items: I had a back-and-forth conversation with them last week to try and pursue the matter, but they just shrugged their shoulders and the items are still up for sale. Ironically, they are just about to bring in their buyer assurance charges at the start of Feb; there seems to be a bit of a disconnect there. I've decided to step away from eBay, as I just don't trust their artificial integrity. The problem with an automated learning system is if you don't correct its mistakes then it will tend to reinforce its erroneous behaviour.
