  1. Time for a gratuitous link to my Rickenberger... ...which was inspired by Darren Redick's:
  2. That's what it says: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115623580494
  3. But it's "READY FOR YOUR HIGH END BASS GUITAR PROJECT"!
  4. Yep - I guess I've broken my vow of moderation over the festive period...
  5. Oops! - I appear to have won the auction for the Westone Quantum too! (I put a bid on it before I went out yesterday, but was expecting to be outbid...)
  6. Yep - never do things by half! I managed to fit parts leftover from a cheap Chinese "Overlord" bridge yesterday evening, so now the bass has strings; it seems to play fine, so that's a result. The bridge saddles did need a bit of fettling to fit them into the Steinie bass plate (their sides weren't exactly parallel or they had a slight lip at the bottom, so they just needed a tiny bit taking off with a small hand file) but nothing too much. The tuner does grind a bit, so I'm viewing it as a stop-gap and I'd like to get decent/proper parts instead. (I have got some thrust bearings on order, though they were intended for other basses, so may or may not find their way onto this.) Next step is the preamp doesn't appear to work; I put in a new 9V battery and plugged in a jack, but the LED doesn't light up. Fixing that might require a bit more effort.
  7. River-<something>? Coincidentally, the shop also had a headless project in the storage area when we went looking for the Flyte's case (haha - a Flyte case!).
  8. 🙂 Yes, I think it may be a refin; I remembered them as silver and with the logo.
  9. Well, I've bid on it; however, I then went out and came home with one if these. ...now on a quest for bridge saddles and a claw.
  10. You don't see many of these about! It has Humbuster pickups. 🙂
  11. That price is a steal, though... ...unfortunately not in favour of the buyer.
  12. Thunders are interesting basses; extremely well regarded, but have never made the leap into the next price range - apart from some chancers asking silly money. £250 could be doable, given that most other things seem to have gone up by a good 50% in the past year, but it might be a stretch.
  13. I've got one; I haven't tried all of the sounds because I just found Lazy and started exploring the riff, so forgot about the pedal itself.
