  1. Fab - I guess they've resumed.

    Ampeg SVP

I think it'll be a 4U case - I'd be quite partial to an SWR in there too. Curse you - now you've got me thinking about a Trace Elliot as well as an SWR !!! 🙂

    Ampeg SVP

Ah yes... I remember working in a data centre where one computer company had installed one of their machines so its airflow fed directly into the inputs of a competitor's model; whoever signed that off didn't quite get the concept of hot and cold alleys.

Cheers - I might take a look. I have to say that my brand-o-meter would tend to lead me towards Crown, as that was the brand back in the day. I'd be looking for A 1U unit of possible. Thanks - I'll be prepared to be disappointed on that one! I've got a Black Line 250 and an EVO.

    Ampeg SVP

So, my Ampeg SVP arrived today (2nd attempt at getting one after stumbling over the deal here, but then this one came up on ebay). Now I've got to figure out what to plug it into - it might be the Fx return of a Markbass for the moment. I'll probably want a 2-channel 1U power amp to fit in a rack with the SVP (and maybe a 2nd SVP if/when, to run my Ric stereo). It'll be interesting comparing it with my other Markbass's modelling capabilities.
  6. Giant heel. I'd ditch the bridge and put a Schaller 3D on it - that's what they use on the 4004.
  7. Won't work if you've got shoes on.
  8. Are they still not doing custom work?
  9. I'm just in the process of configuring a Morningstar MC6 with my C4; it is a bit techy, though...
  10. I think it's for preparing canned songs rather than tweaking on-stage. However, these small pedals are evidently going to need supplementary switcher pedals to avoid you having to do some bizarre multi-footswitch hokey-kokey mid-song on stage. It's the same with the HX Stomp; it's nigh-on impossible without an up/down switcher. The downside is that you have to prepare in advance. The upside in using a computer is that you have a backup of your settings, rather than having to twiddle knobs manually; if you look at MiniMoog players, they often have two of them, because they need two different sounds dialed in ready to go.
  11. I've got to program a counter in the MC6 to keep track of which patch number it's on. I'd also like to display that number on button press.
  12. Laptop, power supply, mouse, any combination of: USB to C4, USB to Neuro Hub, USB to MC6. Powered from different plugboards off the same mains socket.
  13. Well, I finally set aside some quality time with the C4/MC6/Neuro Hub and it's just about working. The components are now on the current firmware and I have the MC6 doing program up/down on the C4. I had to add a MIDI map config on the C4 to receive program up/down (I chose 88 & 89) and then assign them to button presses on the MC6. The real benefit will be when I program specific patch numbers for songs/sounds on the C4 into the MC6. One thing I did find is that the multi-pedal setup doesn't like a PC plugged in and has interference and weirdness going on; probably due to an earth loop.
  14. For £59 - who's going to buy it? They are sometimes prepared to negotiate on price.
  15. Oh boy - the previous incarnation of the scam included sending a postal receipt as a proof that the item was returned due to a failed delivery; the thing is, he gave several people the same return receipt reference number, which came to light as a result of sharing the details and was for delivery to him of another item entirely. As far as Action Fraud goes; whether or not they decide to proceed is one thing, but you do get a crime reference number and also the possibility of centrally linking your case with others. As ever, the advice is never use Friends and Family to pay for things (unless you really do know the person); the art of the con-man is to convince you that they are kindred spirits and if you assume the good in people then you are easy meat for them. Similar caution applies to paying by bank transfer, but (some) banks may take action to reverse the transaction (with the aforementioned crime reference number) and get the recipient's account frozen. Whilst of course there are many more genuine folks about than fraudsters, you simply have to take the risk of their being affronted by refusing unprotected payments; I have had something not go through because of that, but I stand by my rule.
  16. Neuro Hub arrived today - will hopefully have a play over the Bank Holiday weekend. ...and will do various updates too!
  17. The OBNE has an input and two effects send/return loops which can be used as a send/return loop, a send (eg. to a tuner), or an input into a return. You can set the level of each and the loops have a phase switch. With all used as inputs it’s a 3-way mixer. Their website shows examples. One thing I have found is that it doesn’t like an unconnected wire into one of its inputs.
