  1. The thing about the Octamizer is that it sounds great, but a. Stops at about C on the A string, and b. Goes glitchy as a held note fades; I find that it plays me, rather than vice-versa.
  2. I have Hipshot drop-D tuners (eXtenders) on some basses. Years ago I used to have some Dewtron bass pedals which I would use to go down to a C if I'd reached the end of the neck and wanted to go lower.
  3. I reckon a 5-string bass is what's needed. (Not being a smartass - just tracking low notes seems to be difficult and regenerating them sounds artificial, plus there's the point where the sound of a fading note breaks up.)
  4. Apologies for the newbie question and that I haven't read all 75 pages of this thread, but I'm wondering if a HX Stomp will work as a replacement for a selection of discrete pedals. My current pedals are these, but I always seem to be tight on board space and end up with one left over: Phaser (MXR Phase 90). Chorus (MXR Black Label). Octave down (EBS Octabass. Aguilar Octamizer). Octave up (EH Mosaic). Flanger (I don't have one and have no space on my board anyway). Tremolo (won't fit on my board). Envelope filter (I have a Bass Synth Wah and previously had an Aguilar Filter Twin). So, I'm wondering if a Stomp would be a way of consolidating them into a single unit. I don't really need amp modelling, as I'm using an EBS Microbass 3, and I have a Dave Hall DHA-1 valve pedal for a bit of grit. I'd likely run the Stomp via the Microbass's Fx loop, along with my Source Audio C4 synth pedal.
  5. There was someone (on here?) doing 3D-printed re-housing cases for the FI; the original is an awkward size and is full of air, plus you really needed a Morningstar MIDI pedal to operate it anyway. It's plausible that someone took that logic a bit further and did away with the switches (you could do that if you ran it via a looper like a Quartermaster or suchlike).
  6. Oh c'mon, this is ridiculous someone should buy this. There's someone looking for double the price for a Status copy!
  7. There's gold in that Shergold!
  8. With the HBs, everybody says they're nice "for the price"... ...I think only the seller would like those prices!
  9. I've got an Eclipse 5-string like the one in that pic. Their wooden neck ones are really nice.
  10. I went to the zoo there when I was 6 and saw the lion "Elsa" from the movie Born Free.
  11. I have it on good authority that this bass has now been sold and collected.
  12. That's the seller in Paignton who buys £250 Chickenbackers and offers them as "custom" basses at a healthy markup.
  13. It's in fair/used condition, y'know!
  14. I'm not a fan of the thing where an angled end of the neck protrudes into the body.
  15. I'm thinking about buying one of those...
