  1. An update (or not): two people's PayPal refunds were due to clear today, but so-far haven't.
  2. Looks like the bridge was in the wrong place too.
  3. I think @NancyJohnson has one of these (the prototype?) and he thinks it's great.
  4. Not terribly good, overall.
  5. I think they would collate them; they are forwarded to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and I'm hoping the "Intelligence" bit implies that.
  6. Is this the seller who had the up-branded vintage Squier for sale a while back? Something about this in one of the other items for sale rings a bell. But is is marked collection only, so I guess it's up to the buyer to get clued up.
  7. Yes - the suspicion-o-meter is starting to twitch.
  8. This is a curious listing from the same seller - a '63 Jazz starting under £2k; if it went for that, it would indeed be a bargain. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-1963-Jazz-Bass-Guitar-Relic-Custom-Shop-Shoreline-Gold-Stunner-BARGAIN/164609737803?hash=item265381444b:g:aIYAAOSwoS9f5Nhi There is a get-out/disclaimer in the listing, though:
  9. Of course, cutting & pasting screenshots of his abuse here helps show him for what he is. And, were such a need arise, the whole thread would be evidence, which would undermine any such "poor little me" strategy. I've tried to stay above any name-calling/abuse/etc., despite the attempted provocation, as it serves no purpose; sticking to the moral high-ground is the correct approach.
  10. However, if he did that, it would harm his case if his were the only such comments left!
  11. Yes, we have to deal with this legally and have faith in the system; the fact that several people are registering cases with Action Fraud and other police departments is the correct approach.
  12. C’mon folks - let’s not make it hard on the mods: No matter what you would personally like to do to the miscreant, let’s not voice it! There’s no need to give his address here. Think before venting, This thread is a really useful resource; let’s keep it going.
  13. In case anybody is wondering about his bullying and manipulative tendencies, here's couple of excerpts from my messenger conversations with him where he said he was coming to my house "to refund me": Note it includes threats to have my FB profile removed, insults, told me to "give it up", and the assertion that I should "man up". I wasn't going to accept meeting at my house, because one of the members here suggested that he could then not turn up, but post a message along the lines of "Great to meet you earlier and glad we could sort it all out.", which would then turn into a case of his word against mine (even though he is a convicted fraudster, liar, and counterfeiter). I enjoyed suggesting we should meet at the local police station, but the funniest bit was where he said to me "Why lie" - that was a case of the pot calling the kettle black! This is the measure of the man. Then later, further attempts to manipulate events via his proxy "Jason Lear" account: The cover was slipping throughout that Jason Lear conversation, though I played it straight. The "I've a relative who's a lawyer" ruse was fairly transparent, but the telling bit was the "I've (over) £100 too", where he slipped to 1st person.
  14. Good news and welcome here, Jamie; you can understand that many people's suspicion-o-meters are set to high sensitivity at the moment.
  15. Is it possible that the person whose photo was used on that fake account may have found out about it?
  16. We may even find non- bass players joining in - let's make them honourary bass players anyway! 🙂
  17. He claimed he was an admin/friends with many on FB; one group removed my warning a week or so ago.
  18. The sticky has details of Action Fraud and other information. You can also report to your local police and, of course, your bank.
