  1. I thought the main purpose of this area was to be a bit of fun and a place post things which folks in their right minds would never touch, either by virtue of being a right Horlicks, being mis-described or fake/counterfeit, or being offered at a fanciful price. I never thought it was a place to direct potential buyers away from the BC Classifieds and I will always browse various sites (here, ebay, Gumtree, FB, Reverb, etc.) to compare prices & availability. My acquisitions over the past couple of months have been 4 items here on BC, 1 on ebay, 1 on The Fretboard, 2 from shops, and 1 via Facebook.
  2. Yep - the DHA is the one. ... I mean: It really does the vintage valve sound I was looking for. (It takes a non-standard 12V centre +ve power supply, but the red cable from my CIOKS does the job.)
  3. So, I went for a DHA and it seems to be pretty much what I was looking for. I've now got the warm/subtle vintage valve distortion and I can also go "modern" with the Microbass 3.
  4. I've only had a brief go on the C4, but it's looking good. It's replaced Octave up and down pedals, so that'll be my 1st focus. (The right-hand three pedals were all previously @SumOne's ๐Ÿ™‚ )
  5. My latest iteration... The signal path is Microbass 3 Fx loop to QM6. QM6 loops:: C4 (I may put a TC compressor in front of the C4, to calm down my Ric's clatter and things; it'll fit in the gap above the DMC MIDI switch there). DHA. Phaser & Chorus. Flashback. Unused (it's an unused on/off control switch, not a loop). Ditto. The C4 has replaced Octave Up (EH Mosaic) & Down (EBS Octabass) pedals, but I need to program it yet.
  6. I'm not sure why there's the no gumtree & elsewhere rule - why's it for?
  7. It is a conundrum, but then the choice is not to do things.
  8. My shooting club may be instituting tests before meets; itโ€™s not too onerous.
  9. I have one of these - it is a perfect hub for a pedalboard, with Fx send and return; the sound is crisp and authoritative. It hoiked out a Sansamp from my setup.
  10. Everybody selling a Squier seems to thing they've got the one vintage holy-grail one.
  11. Another dubious Fender.
  12. Youโ€™re both wrong!
  13. I was just about to post this - maybe the "....er" brand suggests it's a bit ropey! But them machines look Japanese. And the seller has added a disclaimer too. So, could this be yet another dodgy "Fender" item for sale. (But I'm not going to say it, because the last time I pointed something out with a "Fender" logo on it I got insulted and sworn at!)
  14. Just so...
  15. I swapped my FI for a C4 today.
  16. I know, really. ๐Ÿ™‚
  17. I have an EBS Microbass 2 and a DHA VT1 - they both blow the doors off the SansAmp.
  18. Right; FI out, C4 in!
  19. Why can't people be honest in their listings? This is titled "Fender bass guitar" and then in the description it says "I believe is a Korean copy".
  20. ...and some isn't. ๐Ÿ™‚
  21. I'm a yes - we tend to keep a fair distance apart anyway and we can't be a slave to this damned virus forever. In all honesty, I'm more likely to catch it in my local supermarket than at a Bass Bash.
  22. I've got a couple of old TE GP11 amps - they're great. I've got an Elf - it's great. I've no issues with the company evolving; I do like the fact that the name still exists.
