  1. Sort of difficult to answer that, as it depends on the pre, how the valve/s is/are used and what you are hoping to get out of it. If executed well it can really add to the tone - I have a Dave Hall preamp pedal with a 12AX7 in and it fattens and warms the tone a surprising amount. It also gives a very natural and valve-y drive tone compared to an all-solid state preamp, but there is a bit more noise.
  2. Behringer themselves have confirmed that the 2000w is peak output - and in tests it peaks at around 1800w so it's close. However, they also do confirm if you ask them that RMS Constant output is in the 400-500w region as stated above. The thing is, the headline peak figure is also a bit misleading, as in normal circumstances and playing, it's extremely unlikely anyone would ever exceed 900w peak. But, as has also been stated, it's still remarkably cheap for a valve-pre 500w @ 4 ohms.
  3. I'd say the only reason to choose a Stomp if you already have a Helix floor is one of size/weight - both for portability and for taking up room on stage. If your current setup is easy enough to move about and you don't find the helix floor on stage to be too big/take up too much room then I don't think there's any real reason to get a Stomp
  4. Just north of Peterborough. If it was fretless I wouldn’t be selling it
  5. I’m sure we will be fine.. given that Australia are in the Eurovision Song Contest
  6. No worries. Happy to help a fellow out in pursuit of their niche
  7. That seriously needs some lemon oil on it...
  8. If he could post to me I could post to you. I might even be able to collect it😄
  9. Espadrilles are where it’s at these days. Especially for mountain walking on the continent
  10. I like my tea like I like my women. I pick them up in Asda.
  11. Plenty of garden centres round by me to get as many pots as you like.
  12. Not sure I’d want bryan’s DNA on *my* fingerboard
  13. I know where it is, don’t worry, but I’m staying true to My British heritage and keeping it in a lock-up in Kettering
  14. We are only leaving the EU because their guitards insist on playing synth Europop all the time, and frankly, it’s beginning to grate now. Anyway, pass the tea there old chap
  15. The best way is to get your guitard to criticise your brogues and tell you he can wear brogues better than you ever can. In fact, he’s so talented, he can wear moccasins.
  16. Speak for yourself. I have two. I even had a pair of shoes re-souled recently. I opted for “slightly cynical but romantic to the core” on my docs..
  17. I have learned from this thread. I’m not joining a band in Canada. Not only do they shaft you, but the 3000 odd mile journey to rehearsals would be a killer.
  18. The “guitard” in my band used to be the bass player. After a year or so, we were chatting about how the band has improved in recent times. When asked what he thought had improved, the guitarist said “Well, the bass playing is a lot better..” Attitude goes a long way.. not just your guitarist, but yours as bass player as well....
