  1. I, for one, am really pleased this story has had a (more than) happy ending. So much so, I've even broken my own self-imposed posting break to say as much. Most chuffed for you mate.
  2. I'm clearly winding everyone up on here today. Time for a break.

I just read the OT, can’t see why your comments would have upset,  well put I thought. Had similar feelings myself though when in OT, ain’t got the stomach for it most days!

  3. Oh my quote had nothing to do with him - I saw "What if I..." and heard "Why don't you.." and made up an amusing (not) quip about youtube persona in general. You credit me with far more intelligence than I have.
  4. It was a hashed quote from Why Don’t You - an 80s kids programme
  5. Or, Why don't I... just switch off this laptop set, go out and do something less boring instead. Sitting at home, watching Youtube, turn it off, it makes you crude.. Why don't I.... etc.
  6. I hum loudest even with a P bass... I really need to shower more often.
  7. "Never been on a guitar" I bet it's not been on a drum kit or a flute either....
  8. Having done quite a few partscasters, I'd say taking a saw to a bass ain't much fun at all
  9. I just got a Polytune clip - they are on special at Amazon at the mo for £26. I'll let you know how it does
  10. Of course, if Laura Ashley or Orla Kiely did wallpaper with pictures of basses on it... I'd be insistent Edited as spellchecker changed Orla to Oral - lol
  11. I'm not fussed - I close my eyes on my way to the man cave (with normal, plain old off-white walls)
  12. Having said that, I just did it in my Shuker as it's underneath the board and it worked really well... !
  13. It’s difficult to shield above a pickup without it looking a bit naff
  14. Yep - that's it. People grumbled at Fender for those noisy pickups in the original Tele, Precision etc. and so they made ones that bucked the hum (by the two coils overlapping in frequency and effectively cancelling that bit out...
  15. You can blame Mrs B for the wallpaper. For me its very simple "You can have whatever basses you want dear, as long as I can have whatever wallpaper I want" "You can stick naked pictures of Rick Astley up if I can have whatever basses I want, love..."
  16. Nicky wire is bass player in the Manic Street Preachers.. hence: And then my comment on rope was.. er.. rope.. strangler.. I'll get me coat
  17. Yep. Usually from transformers in stuff in your house, or from fluorescent tubes etc in venues. Single coils pick it up - humbuckers are designed to buck (cancel) it
  18. Apparently Rope is an acceptable substitute
  19. Don't want to say it too loudly for fear of upsetting the Precision Gods, but I think Fender missed a trick by not doing a semi-hollow version of the classic 51P Bass....
  20. It is a little If you want specific photos of certain bits then just ask
  21. Where are you based? I could pop over for a few hours with it and you can photo/measure whatever you like?
