  1. Just a thought - to do a true Jag build it should be short scale - you could do a jazz body and stick your pickup in it with a jazz bridge and have a bit of a full scale hybrid - unless you want short scale of course!
  2. There’s plans for a Jazz Bass here: https://www.gitarrebassbau.de/download/file.php?id=6282&sid=a489b2dba605a9837dd72e33386db328
  3. My regular builder would do one but he’s stacked at the moment and his lead time is months. You could ask one of the online builders if they would do one as a one off which is a possibility - or, buy a template set and have a go yourself The other option is a cheap squier and strip it!
  4. Bridge will go on this afternoon - then it’s just pickup and electronics.
  5. Most of the coffee gets drunk in our house well before soaking can occur
  6. Possible, but a bit too much effort for a cheapie like this - I might look to find a proper cream guard for later
  7. I'm colour blind. Explains the consistently crap playing.
  8. The bend only works with strings with a round core - hex cores don’t need it. And the likelihood of slipping only occurs with pure nickel.. Funnily enough, the bending rule has been around for a long time - from the time when most strings were nickel round cores like Pyramid strings...
  9. Danish Oil is really easy as well... highly recommended
  10. I was really hoping this update by @Aero71 was to say it had been sold so I could stop coming back here....
  11. Now, bass chatters.... Off white: or Black?
  12. Body is waxed and dried, and neck is on...!
  13. I quit one band as the lead singer/songwriter was basically a bully and decided the best course of action was to constantly tell me how bad I was and destroy any confidence I might have. Took 5 years to get over it and pluck up the courage to go to an audition.
  14. 3 more coats, and a slurry sanding and it’s ready for waxing once it’s dried:
  15. No, but I could have a go - I’d struggle to mic up the QSC tho. Let me have a think.
  16. You know, you’d get a chunk back selling the neck on the AVRI P - they go for a fair few quid
