  1. Also started the long and drawn out process of Danish Oil on the neck..
  2. Yeah, back looks a bit different - it’s cos it was done first and thus had dried more. Will post shots when it’s dried.
  3. Enough is enough. I can’t keep staining bits of offcut. So, here it is with the first coat of Phthalo Blue…
  4. I’m trying another blue/green as I am also leaning this way… maybe even with a black base sanded back then blue, and then a green highlight
  5. Yeah. I quite like that too. I’ve tried a few more since then as well. There’s lots of nice colour combos but I am thinking either Ph Blue/Black or Ph Blue/Green
  6. A few more for your consideration - these are under artificial light tho..
  7. Got me knobs out for some comparators. Have done a bunch of other colour combos (post sanding) which I’ll photo later..
  8. Just for completeness, here's the other colours as a single set with the same dilution in the sun:
  9. Only one coat tho.
  10. I’ve got a few that I want to try - bit open to suggestions now.. any colour combos or things you’d like me to try with the stains?
  11. Final one for today - Added Phthalo Blue to the sanded Black:
  12. Nope definitely did crimson…
  13. @ezbass- it’s on the right!
  14. I used 120 grit wet and dry to knock the colour down and get a decent contrast going. Will be interesting to see how other colours look when mixed in..
  15. Also sanded the three dark colours down from the first batch ready for a second colour to see what happens…
  16. Got bored. Did other colours. Dark out so can only take shot inside…
  17. So, that's set one of the raw colours. More to come and then we will start to look at combining colours!
  18. And here they are inside under artificial lighting:
  19. Here's all of them labelled up in the (slightly failing) outside light:
  20. And finally Crimson:
  21. Black. Now, I suspect Black will need a stronger concentration as the same number of drops gave a washed out look, but still pretty nice:
  22. Interestingly the colours do play off each other quite well:
