  1. Will consider trade offers and cash offers - I travel around quite a lot so there’s a chance I may be able to deliver to most places in England except the extremities..
  2. I came here as I was considering some Hipshot ultralights for my current semi hollow 51P build.. ..and my sensibilities have been shocked by the unfiltered profanity! I need a lie down before contemplating tuners any more
  3. My ears! My eyes! (Should I have melted or something?)
  4. Lol. I wish I liked that setup. I think the bass preset is fine, and tbh at a push I’d use it straight in for a gig and be perfectly happy. But the side effect of this blimmin’ frfr journey has been the almost unquenchable desire to possess every preamp Di pedal known to man. I have 4 so far (poor show I know) but that’s purely through self restraint. I can easily see me having 400
  5. To be honest, if rock n roll relies totally on massive cabs for survival then it’s dead. As would be my back...
  6. Not sure I like the moniker of I killed Rock and Roll, but, hey, I'll take what I can
  7. Re-listed as original thread closed but buyer has pulled out.. Barefaced Compact Gen2. It's not been gigged since I've had it, and it was in really good nick when I got it off here. Original handle and no damage, all feet in tact, all corners on and no dents, covering in great condition with no knocks, dings or the like. Sounds great and broken in nicely! Comes with a Roqsolid cover. Ideally I want a trade - and the real preference would be a Barefaced OneTen as I need something super small and light for acoustic style gigs - the Vanderkley 2x10 aint that (!) but will take offers/straight sale. I'm near Peterborough, Lincs, and don't have a suitable box for posting, but happy to travel around a not-too-stupid distance for the right offer or for a really good trade.
  8. The QSC k10.2 has a specific “bass” dsp setting and I’ve tried it - it’s good, but I prefer the colouring a Pre-amp gives
  9. I’ve been mooching for a Plex for some time now - and about another half dozen preamps. I may be becoming a serial Pre-amp collector...
  10. As an aside - the Hotone Pre-amp (B-Station) is bloody good (!) and highly recommended. Loving it.
  11. Thought I’d revisit my old thread..! The QSC k10.2 is getting gigged twice this weekend. It’s being fed by my Hotone preamp DI (I know, right?) and I’m loving it as much as day 1. On the fence? Just get one. Revolutionise your bass experience
  12. I sometimes wonder what I started with that FrFr thread!!! Nice cab
  13. Quick pic to show a nice and simple active install for a P type bass.. Extra switch (so I now have Series/Parallel and Active/Passive) and two stacked knobs..
  14. Well, if I worked for Warwick I’d be reporting back that the “ironyburst” has garnered a 3 pager on Basschat and marketing deserve a slap on the back.
  15. I’m a lefty. I play righty. Back when I was a nipper I tried both lefty and righty. Lefty felt abhorrent and utterly bewildering - righty felt reasonably confusing but much more natural! Learned righty - there’s no way I’d have the coordination to play lefty. We are all weird and somewhat unique individuals.
  16. I’ve been having a good play, and I’d say that if you are looking for an easy way to give a P bass a bit more tonal variety or something extra then this is the way to do it. It’s a damn site easier than routing a bridge pickup in and it’s actually reversible (the east one has a push pull for on off and a rechargeable battery) - I do like the config on Alan’s version tho. Thanks for the advice chaps - you’ve steered me towards making a really great bass even better
  17. P-Retro delivered and fitted. Needed an extra hole for the second dpdt switch (amp on/off) but otherwise it was a simple job. Range of tones is very impressive - the boost is really useful and I love the split mid-boost or treble/bass boost - just sweeping that single knob gives a huge tonal range. The deep boost is really good as well. Love it. The east stuff is really high quality and Alan is a real gent. Same great lightweight feel and playability but with a totally new range of tones. And flick the switch to passive and it sounds just like it did before (perhaps with a bit more sparkle which is probably the tone cap)
  18. Barefaced Compact Gen2. It's not been gigged since I've had it, and it was in really good nick when I got it off here. Original handle and no damage, all feet in tact, all corners on and no dents, tolex in great condition with no rips, tears or shrinking. Sounds great and broken in nicely! Comes with a Roqsolid cover. Ideally I want a trade - and the real preference would be a Barefaced OneTen as I need something super small and light for acoustic style gigs - the Vanderkley 2x10 aint that (!) I'm near Peterborough, Lincs, and don't have a suitable box for posting, but happy to travel around a not-too-stupid distance for the right offer or for a really good trade.
  19. Disraeli Gears. Should be an album I really love, but, it just isn't. Sometimes Mrs B will put it on when I'm out of the room, and I wander in and say "What the heck is this claptrap, turn it off and put something decent on!" Her idea of decent is either the Pixies or Leonard Cohen..
  20. You don't need LED side markers with shirts like those...!
  21. They look short scale from the photo..
  22. More like diving bells and chlorine
  23. Swindon, yes, Slough, yes. Nottingham, yes. Reading? No.
