Well this one was really light, resonant and sounded proper meaty. I was pretty gobsmacked to be honest

Do it.. it's a lot easier than you think. Plenty of advice on here as well. It's very satisfying. And a lot flippin' cheaper than a real vintage (ask me how I know )

Ordered some pickups - cheap and cheerful to get it up and running. If it plays well I'll get a set of handwounds made for it.. this one will be vol vol only.

A quick rub with some leather stain and then a bath in Lenon Oil and look what happens!

Been a little while with this one... These relic jobs take a while! Body has stabilised and nitro hardened, so it's on to final assembly. Tuners, bridge and screws aged lightly in vinegar bath and put on. Jobs left to do: - Fit pickups - Wire up - String Tree - Set up Always fancied a mid 60's P but put off by the price? I'm in the "I don't get this type of question" camp. Music is a personally subjective thing. One persons brilliant will be another persons awful. And this question doesn't work if it's inviting a ranking system. I mean - who is going to be brave and answer the question: "Who is the least talented musician of all time?"

But that's just more expense!! Plus the fact tweed doesn't do it for me...

If it's like most studios I've been to only 2 of the 8 speakers actually work (intermittently)
