  1. That wah-wah effects potmeter is actually a mid frequency selector. While turning you swipe through various frequencies which causes that wah-like effect. It's how it works on these basses (owned two of them).
  2. Rickenbacker 4001 Azureglo Cool vintage Rick in a scarce Azureglo. The serial number dates it back to 1974. It seems that 2 tuners have been replaced, as they have less patina than the other two. Otherwise they look the same to me. The neck has had the infamous cracks which a lot of 4001s have suffered, due to incorrect truss rod adjustment. This has been repaired many years ago and stable since (though it could be finished better with a matching color lacquer). The neck is straight and allows a lovely low action. The truss rods are functional too. Otherwise the bass has a lot of cosmetic damages and lacquer checking. The playability is just great. Like said the neck is straight and allows a nice low action. The sound is like you expect from a good Rick. Weight is 4,18kg on my kitchen scale. Asking €2.750 I'm located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. I am also interested in trading for a 1965 or older jazz bas(max 4kg, Brazil fretboard & clay dots). Refinish or some minor parts exchange aren't a dealbreaker.
  3. Yamaha Super Bass SB800 Great vintage Yamaha Super Bass. It's made in Japan, and the serial decoder says it's made in 1977. It's a really great playing and sounding alternative to a standard Jazz Bass. The neck is quite chunky, more like a P bass. Soundwise it's s in the jazz bass family of course, though I'd say it has a little more meat in the mids than most jazzes. It has a full warm and punchy sound with both pickups active, but also does a great job on funky burping on the bridge pickup solood with the tone closed. The strings fitted are Thomastik flats. The bass is in good condition for it's age. It has its usermarks, small damages and bucklerash, but nothing major. One height adjustment screw has been replaced. All electronics and hardware work like they should. The weight is 3,96kg on my kitchen scale. Asking €850 I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense.
  4. Yes I also sold a lovely 66 jazz. It was really a nice playing and sounding one, but I'm on the hunt for my ideal 60s jazz which is below 4kg Thanks!
  5. Fantastic basses, no less than a JV or most USA fenders in my experience. Would love one as a cheaper alternative to my 66..
  6. I saw them In Amsterdam in 2010, as support act for Aerosmith. At first I thought "damn, which one should I buy tickets for" when I discovered they played on the same date... Until I discovered it was a 2 in 1😁
  7. There appear a lot of these fake listings on reverb. Seems like they have increased in the last month or so. Mostly Fenders, but also Rickenbacker and other popular stuff. Like said earlier in this thread, if it seems to good to be true..... Most of these listings are from a new account without feedback history; keep away.
  8. True that. This 55 watts will be plenty loud for most situations. I've never turned it past 11 o clock on rehearsals with the band. Thanks
  9. Fender Lead ll 1980 Great playing and sounding vintage Fender Lead ll, so not a reissue!! The guitar appears to be all original, with grey bottom pickups dating to 1980. Finish has gone bad with a lot of cracking, as is often the case with Fenders of this era. This is due to a bad type of paint being used. Also there is a lot of discoloration on the front, which actually looks like a nice Cherry Burst :). There are 2 extra holes in the pickguard. Technically the lead is in decent condition. The electronics and hardware work like they should, though one half of the low e tuning peg has been broken off. The neck is straight and adjustable. The frets show wear, but it doesn't hurt playability. Overall some surface cleaning and new strings would be a good thing to do as it's a bit dusty. This is a very well playing guitar with a really great Fender sound on board. The neck has a very comfortable feel to it. THe original tolex hardcase is included. These are pretty rare by themselves. I think they are the same cases as used for mustangs, but with an extra padded block added. The case is in reasonable condition, with one latch missing. Asking €1.100 I am located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk.
  10. I am selling my fantastic Ampeg B25-B! It's truly a great sounding amp, but I decided to buy something with more watts for gigging. When a bass friend of mine offered his near mint 77 Ampeg V4-B, I didn't need much time to think about that. So this nice amp has now been replaced with it's bigger brother. The amp is in used condition with some wear and aging on the face plate. I had the amp checked up by my tech a few months ago, and all is good. A few pots may be scratchy due to little use. It's a very simple, great sounding amp. It loves a passive P with flats! And it's actually pretty loud too with a decent cab, for it's rated 55 watts. The amp can be used with either a 16ohm or 8ohm (dummy plug can be used) cab or total of cab. Asking €1.150 I am located in the Netherlands, but could arrange shipping at buyers risk and costs if required. I have shipped tube amps before without any problems.
  11. Alembic Elan 5 (1989) Excellent Alembic Elan fiver with narrow (15mm) stringspacing. The bass has its usermarks and small damages around, but is in a technical good condition. The neck is straight, frets are good, hardware and electronics work properly. Playability of this neck is great, and allows low action. The string spacing might be tight for slapping, but is great for faster fingerstyle or pick stuff. Controls: volume, pan, q-switch, q-filter. The weight on my kitchen scale is 4,7kg. Original specsheet and other documentation is included, as well is a generic soft case. Asking €3.500 I am located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Trades and partial trades are welcome. I am mainly interested in vintage Fender (especially <66 jazz) basses or maybe guitars, Music Man Sabre bass... Also good (japanese) copies of famous bass models might be interesting per example..
  12. I'm pretty sure this neck and body are from different basses.
  13. Fender Precision 1966 Beautiful and fantastic playing/sounding precision bass. The sunburst is still very vibrant on this one. It appears to be all original except for a pro refret (playability is great with low action). Also the knobs differ a little from each other,so I assume one is a replacement. pots are dated week 18 of 1966, neck date May 5 66, pickups original grey bottoms (will make some pics later on). Technically the bass is perfect. The neck is straight and we'll adjustable, and also all hardware and electronics are working like they should. This precision sounds and plays just great. The tone control is very useful for a nice range of tones. It sounds great with either rounds or flats. When I'm shifting it, it will be set up with fresh GHS precision flats or round. Without the covers the bass weighs about 3.9kg if I recall right. It's definitely very comfortable. An original tail logo hardcase is included in the sale. This case is in good condition for it's age. Now also for sale: €8.000 Tradewise I am interested in a 60s Jazz Bass. Ideally 65 or older (before the binding was introduced). A well worn finish or a nice refin is not necessarily a dealbreaker. Weight must be below 4kg. Partial trades are negotiable too. Think; music man sabre, jazz bass (Fender Roadworn, Avri, Custom shop, japanese copies), mustang bass.... Surprise me. I've got more stuff to add in a trade if needed.
  14. That replaced bridge plate looks pretty classy actually👌
