There are a lot of dealers that stick to their high asking prices though. For example there is an amp dealer that has nice stuff but priced way too high. Made him an market-fair offer on 2 items that have been on there for 2 years... Declined. Good luck then In general, I wouldn't advice to use reverb as a reference for the actual market value.

Why on earth did I let this Lakland 5594 go.

There is a red one for sale on reverb at the moment (Italy based). -
Well, i did A/B the cabs. I didn't expect them to differ so much in sound as they do. Volume wise they are pretty much similar with the Ampeg B25B. The 4/16 Ohm cab seems more mid oriented where the 8 Ohm cab has definitely deeper lows in the same neutral EQ settings. Also the the highs seem a bit warmer and more clear on this one Both cabs sound really good, and maybe the differences narrow at higher volumes. Now I have to decide which one is the best choice for me... I am leaning towards the 8ohm, though the more mid focused 16ohm cab can of course be great as well. Let's not forget that there's is an amp on top with some eq on it, and i also have a preamp pedal I can use. It's a tough one for me. Anyone has some suggestions to come to a wise decision?

Is this 4ohm cab rewired to 16ohm?
SurroundedByManatees replied to SurroundedByManatees's topic in Repairs and Technical
Yeah I found the sellers contact details in my mail and asked him. He indeed confirmed that it had been rewired (which makes total sense given the head it was used with). Thanks all. -
I've got a Ampeg B25B tube amp. The speaker out is for a 16ohm cabinet, but apparently it can be switced to 8ohm by putting a dummy plug in the output, and connect the 8ohm cab to the ext. Speaker output. Will there be a difference in volume between 16ohm and 8ohm, given the cabs are the same apart from impedance (glockenklang Quattro)?

Fender Jazz Bass 1966 Great vintage 1966 transition model jazz bass with the beautiful dots and binding combination (done for just a short time). The bass is all original except for a refret and new bone nut. It plays great with a low action. I've got thomastik jazz flats fitted which do a great job. Sounds great with rounds too though. The bass has a very rich and clear sound, and does the bridge pickup snarl beautifully. The technical condition of the bass is good. The neck is straight, and the truss rod turns both ways easily. The frets are good too and are almost free of wear. All electronics and hardware are functional. The bridge pickup appears to be microphonic though, which causes feedback when using my fuzz pedal. As for looks, this one still has very vibrant burst. On the back you can see some nice grain from the alder body. The bass has a lot of small usermarks, but nothing significant that would be off for a used 55 year old bass. Overall there is some pretty finish checking. Te weight of this beauty is 4,2 kg without covers mounted. The original hardcase is included in the sale. Fixed lowered price: €7.250 I am located in the Netherland, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Partial trades are welcome. Per example; mustang, music man Sabre... Also I am interested in Fender offset guitars (Jazzmaster, Jaguar..) or maybe a nice stratocaster. And maybe a good bass head (Gallien-Krueger RB series, Ampeg V4(b), ashdown ctm100)..

Is this 4ohm cab rewired to 16ohm?

Thanks 👍 -
Hi There. I've got a Glockenklang Quattro 4 Ohms (with tweeter) that I suspect has been rewired to 16 Ohms. Reading on my multimeter is 11.7 ohms (200 setting on multimeter). I also managed to make this crappy pick inside from the backplate. As there are wires between te speakers, I suspect it indeed has been rewired? It would make sense though given the head I got the cab with. Thanks

Picked up this Ampeg B25B a few days ago. It sounds ridiculously good and plenty loud.... Will have it checked by a tech, and will be my main amp once serviced I also still have the Bassman 135, but that will leave the building as I can't keep them all..
