  1. I can confirm that this is a very nice precision. If you are initially looking into late 70s Fenders, you might want to look at this one. It's just a few years younger, but it's still similar to a 70s, only nicer build quality than all 70s fenders I have owned so far. The "good stuff" from the early 80s are my favorite fenders. The seller is a nice and reliable guy, and has graduated at packing school.
  2. Fender American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass Nice reissue Fender Jazz, made in the USA (2004). This jazz has a vvt configuration, which is apparently not uncommon on exported avri 62 basses. More pics: As you can see from the pictures the bass has been used well, so it has acquired a "roadworn" look. Technically the bass is perfect; all hardware and electronics work like they should, neck is straight, frets are fine. This bass plays smoothly with its thin neck and narrow vintage frets. The sound is best to be described as a good jazz bass. The original brown tolex case is included, as well as the original mute kit and some paperwork. Fixed price €1.150 The bass is located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to arrange insured shipping at buyers risk and costs.
  3. Trades are welcome too. Any nice (2eq) stingray out there? Otherwise, surprise me!
  4. It is a common thing indeed. I´ve wondered about it too when I encountered such a walnut plug on a Kasuga Precision copy for the first time
  5. Anyone knows one for sale/trade? Preferably a flake finish please 😊
  6. Old Rickenbacker 4001 pickguard for pre-1974 models with the pickup closer to the neck. I purchased this one for my 1978, but didn't realise that the pickup had been moved half an inch from the neck in the 70s. The pickguard is in reasonable shape. It has a crack on the top, but it's complete. Asking €150 Meanwhile I've bought a modern replacement, but I might consider a swap for an original later 70s pickguard. I am also looking for an older Rickenbacker case.
  7. Just found my kitchen scales; it weighs in at a moderate 4,4 kilo. It has a little neckdive (on a mono Betty strap, a rougher one might eliminate this), but I feel it balances well.
  8. There is a little relief. Pretty much like a standard Fender. There are sadowsky 45-105 stainless steel strings fitted now.
  9. The asking prices for musicmasters are mostly way too high indeed. They are just asking prices though, those overpriced basses aren't going anywhere usually. Sometimes it seems that if 1 person puts up a type of bass for ridiculous cash, a lot of people think it's actual worth it and copy the price. I'd still fancy one though, if one would pop up at a normal price.
  10. Fender USA Precision 1982 Up for sale or trade is my beautiful "transitional era" precision. It still has the 70s type neck/logo/tuners, but the body has the deeper/rounder contours that returned in the Dan Smith era. Also the white pickup covers are typical for that Era. It still has the 70s style chrome bridge- and pickup covers though. Overall it looks like a 70s Fender bass, but with a nicer build quality. The bass is in pretty good condition for being nearly 40 years old. It has a few damages and usermarks, but nothing serieous. Overall it has a fresh appearance. Its not only a great looking bass, it plays lovely too with a low action if wished so. Technically the bass is all fine. The neck is straight and adjustable, and all the electronics and hardware function like they should. The bass appears to be all original except for the bridge plate. Nut width is 42mm and weight 4.7kg on my kitchen scales. A non-original generic hardcase is included. €1.650 (£1.470) The bass is located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship with europe/UK at buyers risk.
  11. Nut width is 40mm, and my kitchen scale says it weighs 4,15 kilo's.
  12. Will get back to this when I get home tonight or tomorrow morning.
