Not over-regulated..... just regulated. I prefer not having to pick up the bits after folks have escalated from 'freindly banter' into exchanging insults. Keep it (genuinely) playful and I wont interject (there is no need). I can however detect when folks have had thier cages rattled (part of my job) and I wont have others baiting them. B.
dont get that burpster...unless someone has complained?? my cage certainly isn't rattled nor did I have the intention of rattling anyone elses! so you have lost me a little on this....................

god £750! thats about £2-300 over priced!? still...what a bass.....I want a red one! anyway did I tell you that billy got back to me re the Attitude mk3? he says its the best yet and he is soooo pleased as to the standard Yamaha have attained on this model...he also said watch out for the reviews at the end of November!!! cant wait.........oh!

the ATK is fantastic value for the money!! more so than any mm! you cant close a thread that is causing such cracking debate!!? great for all to take part in! El_Jimbob do you have your own shop? if so please explain the percentage?
-
What's wrong with a 40% markup? Or even a bit more? You think there aren't people out there who rely on that to make their living? Or who think it's worth it for the effort they put into setting it up and selling it? Thanks, you've made my day - just when i thought Asda selling guitar packs couldn't make me feel any worse.
lots wrong with a 40% mark-up and thats generous!!!! people would make more of a living if things were more affordable!!!!! also...why pay £1100 for a music man when you can import them in new for hundreds less??? time shops woke up! when did asda start selling guitar packages????

take it easy man - your having the downer after the shopping! enjoy! -
Burpster - stop shouting and calm down man! it comes down to the same thing for all basses - horses for courses! we are ripped of big time on the prices we pay for basses - there is a markup of at least 40% on all manufactured instruments as well as that an MM is in no way worth more than say an American standard pbass at £699 and I feel exactly the same about the Yamaha attitude at £1050 thank goodness that has been dropped to £700.....teh point I would like to think was being made is that occasionally some basses are made to the same standards as the 'standard' setter, only less cash to buy therfore making folk think long and hard about their purchase. Asian manufacturing processes, particularly yamaha Japan, are far more refined and much faster, producing large quantities, than ours and america's making the standard more achievable at far less the cost!

sorry they dont all play like pigs! some like cows and moo like them too.....MM's for me are way over priced for what they are!
-
mm play like pigs man! cant stand them! and that honky tone!! £1100 for one of them - feck £11 more like! had an original Ibanez ATK sunburst with maple neck and fretboard, triple humbacker and added jazz pup - it was superb another great regret of mine!!

aint being involved in and playing music just the best ever.......... great debate lads keep it up! Jason becker is a sad story - what a player I had the priviledge of seeing him perform with DLR in Glasgow many moons ago he was simply outstanding! unfortunately illness is a horrible thing! Nuno for me is the best guitarist i have ever heard, he is a rough diamond but not wanting or needing to be polished! what a tone.... Bassists I wont neglect, there are to many of these guys who have changed the way we look at and play bass....respect and rip my bass lovin friend, tutor and influences............ and ps; we need to start a nuno appreciation thread.......

Naughty Naughty but I told you so.
andy67 replied to warwickhunt's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I'm no quite understanding parts of what you are trying to say...but, the 'feeler' bids are a way of pushing up the final amount, whereas if you bid last minute you get to observe the bidding trend, make an assumption based on the observation (set up or not - proxy bidding etc) and then bid your amount, not an amout that has been pushed up to get more money out of the sale because you put an initial bid in... If more people bid last thing it would, in my view, stop all this proxy nonsense as the dishonest seller would have no way of reaching: a, his reserve or b, an inflated price due to one of his friends bidding but this is just my opinion and perhaps a 'bin' should become the norm in ebay?? I don't know, however something needs to be done to halt the farce that is bringing down ebay...
