Im off college for a week , and after that its gonna be really hard to get someone in the house to take a delivery. What are the chances of the bass being delivered for friday??
hi mate.. if you get the money to me for thursday, I reckon I could have it you by friday, next day royal mail service, however could it be sent to another address? cheers andy
2. warwick, heres a novel idea....does your paypal account still exist and work? if so offer to sell the barsteward your existing stock at clearance prices then once paid send him a whole load a sh*te! (not actual smelly stuff) just your worst examples....tell him you've decided to give up trading these things for good!!
3. am I having a senior moment here or has someone deleted a post? perhaps I'm in the basschat triangle.................spooky!
4. yes it should be. would need to get a box - shouldn't be too difficult! and reckon it would cost around £15 - £20 recorded delivery. I had it set up professionally at the weekend - cost me nothing - but the bass is sounding and playing beautifully....almost decided to keep it! also...my ebay id is and200367, look this up and you'll get an idea of me when buying and selling as well as having the ability to contact me. cheers andy
5. and....................cant wait for the mk3!
6. horses for courses dood... I prefer the feel and playability of my mk 1 but there is a definite sonic difference in the mk 2, it sounds more polished and articulate. the neck joint is different also - no more military grade metal join, plain wood join as yamaha have apparently got their production of the bass down to a T that the neck join is rock solid in the pocket and does not require the metal????? sorry for the rambling no senser.....
7. hanson - yes the squier modified jazz is still up for sale with the modifications (bridge & tuners) for £200 Lowdown - thanks for recognising that this jazz is now, as good as a highway 1 jazz! and yes still up for sale....^
8. go check out billy sheehan on youtube! failing that there is always, stu hamm/jon mayung/Les Claypool/john entwhistle/michael manring...barring john mayung most of these guys perform with 4 string...
9.
Actually, he was in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers from http://www.the-fuze.com/andyfraser.html
thanks for the correction richard didn't know that was the connection though..john mayall doesn't half pick them!
10. apparently he was fifteen when paul, simon and paul spotted him playing in a jazz band...he is great!
11. YOU SAY USED TO? something happen to change your mind?
12. what a player - I'd also forgotten how good he is.... link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FhCilozomo
13. its gone!
14. chris, japcrap was ok in the seventies compared to the somewhere near there crap we get now! my 1980's ibanez blazer was way cool and a great bass, so was my early seventies satellite pbass... I think ebay have a moral obligation/responsibility to make sure that the experience they provide is at least safe and pleasant! they certainly take enough money off of the seller when listing, selling and paying...I think it amounts to about 15% therefore if you sell soemthing at £1k well...you know! They need to do something to encourage good practice and restore confidence in there marketplace....but do agree about local shop and choice.
15. devilment works for me! keep him going for a while - make him squirm.........
16. tell him you want the bass as you both entered into a legal and binding contract (him to sell you to buy) student or not! see what happens? also you could say that you may have to involve the police as it is now your property - as per contract - and would appear to have been stolen (in his words 'gone') and that he could be at the very least be charged with reset (selling on stolen goods)....not too sure how much different this would be in English law as it is in Scottish law.
17. the original stuff is now gone - tbh the bass is best as it is now...
18. see edited title....bump
19. good on you! wish we could all help...maybe if a letter was draughted from this site and we all put our names to it.......they might think about revising some of their selling rules??
20. needs to be taken further now! I d/k what kind of action can be taken but this ebayer has broken a legal and binding contract which should result in him losing his account. I always say go for the jugular and weed these idiots out...also ebay needs to be sanctioned/censored/disciplined/fined for allowing any of this activity....
21. emailed the seller! stating I have family in orkney and would he/she be ok if I sent a member of my family round to pay on collection - if I won the auction! too many cons going on from my part of the uk!
22. the necks are stunning, solid and so playable....if this stays reasonable (price) you would never and I mean never regret buying one particulalry as these are so hard to get....they also sound monsterous!
23. I know....please stop me............
24. ditto.... I put it up here in order to a, stop me wanting to buy and b buying it!!!! its like a fix! and I'm craving it!!
25. here it is folks - the bass a few have been asking for! it should safely go for around £500/600. its not mine by the way, but had to post as this version does not come up often! link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-Billy-Sheehan...1QQcmdZViewItem
