1. what a great tale from the bay! keep in there dont let the silly fl***ker get away!!!!! I absolutely hate these sellers, ebay is getting worse with no policing occuring they are getting away with it! it is almost legalised crime aligned with criminal activity!
2.
Hi ANdy It's a lovely looking P-Bass and I'd definitely be interested, but I need to sell my MM5 String first.
Its in shop condition, neck and join are solid the action is fairly low and buzz free but could go lower as the bridge and tuning are rock solid, never been used in anger nor for much pleasure, so too speak! it comes with a hardcase and hopefully the original tuning key is in the case also. I'm in no real rush so get back to me when you sell your mm5 - its is being sold to fund an ampeg 810e. andy
3. bass back up for sale again! I have mailed the seller and gave a good explanation why it was taken down - he is looking for a bout £450 for this bass which imo seems a very good price! link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Status-Series-1-Bass...1QQcmdZViewItem
4. fantastic! you are a lucky man alchemy!
5. the vintage modified series is good! I have mine up for sale £250 brand new with gig bag and fruther modifications - I have changed the bridge to a badass II and the tuners are Schaller! link here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5124
6.
I've never found the BTB to be a thin and weedy sounding instrument, unless you EQ it to be that way, theres a lot of tone shaping adjustment at your disposal. Check out the reviews http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...z/BTB405QM/10/1 http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1460&type=bass
I'm not an eq player 'plug and play' if it fails the most basic test then no good to me I'm afraid! I cant be arsed with eq'ing the amp or the bass - yamaha attitude straight into my v4 all valve head into 8x10 instant in your face bass!
7. guys please give me some of your live performance experience of the ibanez basses please? I have had a few and had real issues live with them BTB did not cut at all - real thin and weedy sound Blazer was fantastic in all respects - wish I'd never let it go! atk - loved the body and neck but again no cut nor presence rg/sr/fieldy - didn't work in any respect for me no amp cab issues and I dont use any effects...
8. really depends on your budget! if you can save for a while - do this and buy the best bass you can and really want as it will save you money in the long run otherwise you will be losing money on an entry/mid level bass either selling or trading in to get the next level up! but once you have a budget in mind I'm sure the good users on here will advise you appropriately. andy
9. hey old horse... my MIA pbass is still up for sale if you are interested? link here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5265 andy
10. second the yamaha trb5 - pick them up for around £500 - make sure that it is a mkI though! check my avatar pic. I would also recomend you try some of the schecter 5's particularly the custom/studio/elite ranges well made instruments using emg pups and elixer strings....when you see the quality of build and price range, it will make you wonder how they can do this!?
11. right colour for me! just not a fender man........
12. selling my pbass for £500 with fitted hard case if you are interested? check link: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5265 andy
13. yep fitted the fender pbass bridge on - the tbass is string through as stock, so no hard work required! that bass is just gorgeous lfalex! also like your thinking! thought about the split p pups as it was a good/cost effective way of building the 'wife' as the body and neck on the tbass are really good!
14. as promised! laflex; a precision bass bridge (proper one that is) works better in my view than a badass....
15. I'll get picks up soon... model one came from here: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/bass_pickupsdimarzio.htm and was $96 delivered £48 in our money! no routing needed at all! andy
16. afternoon folks... just fitted a dimarzio model one pup to my squier vm tbass - what a feckin difference, massive, huge, large, bonkers! off its head! aggressive yet sweet, unbelievable!! gone is the muddieness and colouration - enter the clarity, power, attack, bottom end articulation, balls and most of all welcome to the tbass............................................................................................... ...................................
17. yep be well aware! bankers draft only, no paypal or protection! this one should be cut loose.............
18. only one problem I can spot! if I win the auction what one would I receive?
19. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Status-Series-1-Bass...1QQcmdZViewItem pretty cool huh? heads up sports fans may go for a snatch!
20. I have two of those very decals at home! looks like an old 'kay' bass.....
21. I'll do the same - even though its 100 miles away, would make a nice day out!
22. yep skint too! but the good lady has dropped the price to £650 which is more realistic - I've offered her a swap for my red pbass.
23.
Do nothing...especially not buy it for £2K. In my humble opinion I think that bass is barely worth half what he's asking for it - if that. Why?

He's managed to break the truss rod (WTF?) - so the neck/fretboard has had to be repaired
The pickups /wiring aren't original
Sounds like there's been some re-routing to fit the EMGs & wiring
The bridge is replaced & then it's not even a real Badass bridge!
Someone's carved their name into the back of the headstock & this guy thinks 'great idea - I'll carve mine on top!'
Who knows what else has been messed with?
It looks in pretty poor condition & has been abused & chopped about rather than cared for & cherished
No ashtrays, or case

its a schaller bridge thats on it...imo better than a badass! however on closer inspection the neckplate? burst at the screws! mustn't have been able to get a screw out and used pliers to bend it!!!! tosser....
