1. Visually it's very creative and interesting. I wonder what it would be like to play. I'm not sure......
 2. I think that Westbury has been on the market before. Barwell is a small place, how many track 2 basses can there be there? If I remember correctly, it was on sale for £180, and I offered less. But more than the current start price however. No response. Now it's on for a start price of £100. Which I'd think is low enough such that it will sell.
 3. Hi Jon, I'm not in a position to justify buying a handmade custom instrument. But I'm really pleased to see local people actually making stuff. I wish you well for your luthurial future! I think I saw one of your basses, a 5 string fretless in Intasound Music in Narborough road. It looked very well made.
 4. I don't quite get the Sue Ryder bass running gag. They're only mentioned in one other thread.on here which is another running gag. I've only read a few comments on the quality of the Sue Ryder instruments, none of them for basses, but all suggested that they were well designed competently built instruments. They've got sensible species of wood for their materials. Surely they're a bargain for the discounted price, would make a cheap backup/modding platform/starter bass for the financially challenged?
 5. "Tokai Hondo"?????? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tokai-Hondo-Precisio...=item43a4d74d2b Edit: Basschat discussion here: http://basschat.co.uk/lofiversion/index.php/t80013.html There's evidence on the web that the Hondo II "Professional series" strats were made by Tokai. But of course there is evidence of all sorts of guff on the internet. This page suggests Matsumoku: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archive/inde...p/t-640402.html Of course it isn't guaranteed that the bass being sold is a professional series, however. Edit: Headstock of much cheaper Hondo II Professional sold a few days ago actually says "Professional" on it. The headstock in the bass in the first link in this post doesn't. 6.
Yea, the top grain in the first and second photos is totally different.
Nobody has quibbled about it being described as a "Jazz bass". Is there something I'm missing?
 7. Here's a new game for this thread. You post an ebay listing, and other readers have to spot the wildly inaccurate "fact" mentioned in the listing. I'll start: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/bass-guitar-westone-...=item3a62ad3d64
 8. Currently cheaper fretless here. For those near Derby. Not a precision though. 9.
Bugger! How did I miss that one!!
I bid £257 on it. Less than it's worth, but it's a matter of cash I can spend more than the value of the bass. Until the last two minutes it was only £150 something, and I was watching it VERY INTENTLY. Then it started going up.
 10. I'd say this is worth about £350. I made an offer of considerably less, which was turned down within seconds. If anyone is thinking of buying it, hopefully my lowball offer may have prodded the seller a few millimetres towards reality. 11.
Was there a BIN on it?
I don't know. It was £1.20 when I first saw it.
 12. Ibanez Roadster with hard case. And someone bid £1 on it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1981-Ibanez-Roadster...=item27b835bff4
 13. Look at the body wood! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Project-Fretless-Ele...=item1e60ef6252
 14.
This is an Anniversary-branded one, set-neck rather than through (look at the back pic), and pretty decent according to a few BCers who have them. They are current, & I don't think they cost a lot more than this new, though.
A shop in a town near me sells Anniversary guitars, and they said they get the bass in occasionally. Though, I've never seen one. They sell Anniversary Rick copy guitars, and the "300 series" 6 string is £349 at present. I think they sold the basses for £400 new, and that's consistent with this site: http://www.expressmusicstore.co.uk/products.asp?code=80606
 15.
As well as being a bump here a quick question for anyone reading this. Havn't had any interest so far, is it because of what it is or the price?
When I saw it was £220 I was immediately tempted, even though I have no actual need for it. Though, when re-reading the thread, given that it seems to be a no-brand (? - you don't say which brand it is), the thing that stands out to me is that you don't say how well it plays. If you were local, I'd probably ask to come over and have a go on it. And if I decided that I dug it, the price would not be a problem.

 17.
I this is a good start, I'd say 100 posts.. if you talk alot like me.. that's easy :-) I'd like to see a simular thing for the normal ads, but maybe I'm turning into an old grumpy man and have too much love for BC ;-P. I like the BC buying selling confidence.
That would stop newbies turning up and posting in for sale threads as they're trying to buy a bass.
 18.
I tried using the Zoom Q3-HD as an audio recorder but the format it uses is unusable for me (see my review of the Q3-HD under 'Recording'), so soundclips will have to wait until I bring my H2 home.
If you can post the Q3HD file, then I'll probably be able to convert the file. If not here at home, then certainly at work tomorrow.
 19.
Why thank'ee, gennulmen, thank'ee kindly. If you think she looks nice, you should hear her. About as close to a DB as an electric ever gets.
Sound clips? Please. Pretty please.
 20. There's not anything particularly newsworthy about this bass. I just think they look really nice. 25.
If my experience of Kasugas is anything to go on this will be an excellent bass, assuming it's been looked after - easily as good as anything comparable from the likes of Fujigen or Matsumoku.
Is it good enough to justify the seller listing it four times over?
