Alembic. I've no idea how much these sell for, so can't comment on the price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALEMBIC-Pro-Martin-B...=item1c185f5a5f -
For every bass player here on Basschat (who therefore knows the truth about The Bass Cellar) there's another 50 or 100 who have never heard of Basschat and who assume that The Bass Cellar in Denmark Street is absolutely THE place to buy their gear.
Maybe there is a whole market of rich masochistic bass players who look forward to their fix of abuse and bass buying as the high point of their lives.

Here's a Q&A from one of his auctions.
Q: Hi there, apart from the crack in the paintwork, is the guitar undamaged? Does it tune up, have good intonation and play action? Also - I went to bid on another item and found I was blocked. I don't understand why this could be, as I've never purchased from you previously, and I have an impeccable feedback rating. 16-Dec-10 A: Hello, eee by gum makes you wonder don`t it. Thank you
-

Would the Antoria bass be Fujigen made? This is from the US, and I usually don't post foreign sourced listings, but I thought a MIJ (claimed) Hondo Longhorn bass interesting. Not sure I've seen one of those before. Antoria badged Gibby copy. I'm not sure exactly which are the EB0 or EB3 copies, but it's in the SG style bass ballpark. Bolt on neck. Not too high a starting bid, surely it will sell. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IBANEZ-Antoria-EB-SG...=item1c1828c049 In total, there seems to be quite a lot of metal on this bass. Edit: I shouldn't be so lazy. Looking at: http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/gib62p16.php, with the double pickup and four knobs, this is an EB3 copy, though I presume the original is set-neck. The slightly odd looking bridge is modelled after the Gibson original, and the Antoria looks a quite close copy, apart from the neck. I hadn't heard of the EB6 before! That'd be a beast! The Ibanez equivalents are on sale for quite a lot: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-IBANEZ-EB-23...=item41557f2b89 -
Saturday Night Fever-who was the bassplayer
Disco Inferno was definately played by Ronnie Baker of the Trammps. He was well known for his deep, thumping bass, heavy flatwounds, loads of foam under the bridge to mute the strings - he truly believed that a bass was meant to sound like a bass!! He died some years ago.
Is there a particular youtube clip which shows off his signature sound? -

I've probably got this wrong, but why can't you just buy a replacement tuner? A quick google suggests that the EBMM Stingray has Schaller BM tuners, and a thread I saw suggests that they can be bought from Warmoth. Here? http://www.warmoth.com/Tuning-Machines-C208.aspx That's in the US, but a quick google for a UK supplier came up with nothing. A better search may find somewhere though. No? Edit: OIC. MM branded tuners. -
Really chuffed with this, the wife had a calendar professionally made with pics of some of the basses I've owned over the years. Totally unbeknown to me she raided my picture files and sent them away.
Phew! Looks like she didn't find the nudie pics or christmas would have been much cooler! Sorry, only joking. Great Calendar. -
Macca + Wings. Denny Laine wrote and sings the song, meaning that Macca is "just" the bassplayer (+backing vocalist).
And now it's with me Anybody point me in the direction of articles on how to adjust twin truss rods on a BOLT ON neck copy? The rods look like they have been painted over. The bass itself is, erm, more mojo'd than the photo's, lot of little chips and a couple of big chips, scratches etc. Virtually all the chrome parts are pitted, but I will inquire about that at a later date. Next years gig money will perhaps go to black Hipshot bridge, pick up surround and black tuners (wonder who gave me that idea ) . The main thing is to get the action playable as you could currently drive a Transit under the strings. One redeeming feature is ............... it sounds bloody fantastic!!! so I am very keen to get it playable. Hope someone can point me, cheers guys, Karl.
Congratulations on your purchase!!!!

Hardware and pick up suggestions for winter project
Annoying Twit replied to The Admiral's topic in General Discussion
I won't make any suggestions as to choice of hardware. I'll just suggest that anything you make should be shocking pink, fluorescent green, or preferably a combination of the two. -
Have you noticed him sell any though? Is this real fretless bass on the Trevor Jones track "Hallucination" on the Labyrinth soundtrack? http://www.we7.com/#/album/David-Bowie/Labyrinth (track 6) At first I presumed like lots of the sounds on that track, that it would be synthesised and played from a keyboard. But, listening to it again, it does sound rather convincing. So, is it real, or would I not recognise a real fretless if someone whacked me over the head with it?
