Such that if I actually could buy it, I could go have a look. (If the seller agrees). But, there's no way I can justify spending over £1000 for a bass. Still nice to see it come up though. Pity about the generic photo.
 2. Iwama bass. Just looks wrong to me. Maybe it's just the single pickup on a Jazz, or is it the body shape? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-EARLY-70S-JAPAN...=item45f5ce02bd
 3. I'm not sure when something gets too new for the JapCrap thread This looks a good deal to me, being a MIJ Fender Jazz Bass for £350 BIN, with a £275 start bid. Unless the lack of frets depresses the price compared to fretted basses. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Fretless-Jazz...=item20b428573e
 4.
Thanks for that Noel - bookmarked. Very interesting, genuinely never encountered this brand before. The bass in question appears to be a CB200: http://cortleyguitars.tripod.com/Catalog1P6.html
And they did a Rickenfaker too.
 5. Normally I wouldn't post a bass from the US. But I've never heard of a "Cortley" brand bass. I suppose that back in the day there were loads of micro-brands, the same way the Chinese factories will put "your" brand on a generic instrument. Was Cortley one of these, or was it a better known brand that I just hadn't heard of ye? 6. Yes, I thought that the Carolina wood used in some basses is a type of pine. http://www.capitalcrispin.com/pine_carolina.aspx My Rockbass is made from Carolina, and has the typical wide spaced growth rings underneath what looks like about an inch layer of poly. Search on "Ikeacaster" to find people making telecasters out of cheap pine wood shelving material from Ikea.

 8. "Starfire" is positively tame by comparison. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STARFIRE-EKS-P-TYPE-...=item33615d0594
 9. Wow! That's a BEAST! (In a good way)
 10. When I saw your thread title, I thought that you'd be selling this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOKAI-LOVE-ROCK-LP-S...=item45f5ad4d17
 11. I think we've had an effect though. As well as the reduced BIN, it says "made in Indonesia", and "no timewasters"
 12.
Hi there, Im not really sure to be fair, as Im selling this for my brother-in-law. On the fender website, when we have looked, these are at $999, or around £650. if you would like to find out a bit more info from someone a bit more knowledgable, please ring him on the mobile number provided at the bottom of the ad, or text him would be fine.
13.
Not I, but I'm watching them as I'll have a pile of spares from mine.
Given that the current bid is £50, it would be very interesting (in a good way) if you could sell some of the bits and get all your money back
 14. CMI bits Is this a forumite selling these?
 15.
I sent him a message with this link http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...tique-Burst/2SX I urge everyone to do likewise.
My message to the seller is all sweet and innocent. I presume that the high RRP means that it's a new Japanese or US made Squier. Is it? PS: Did you all know that the word "gullible" isn't in the Oxford English Dictionary?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1983-Westone-Raider-...=item3cb135f56b Could this actually be - RARE - not many about surely?
This, or something very like it, came up a week or some weeks ago. The current seller doesn't have a previous non-sale in his/her completed listings. So, either it's another one, or whoever bought the last one is selling in on proper quick. Edit: It is the same seller. Previously on for £180. 17.
Where does he get that price from?
A: His rectum. Lying b'tard with a mobile number of 07805939341. I'm half tempted to phone him up and tell him what I think of him.
 18. SB-700 with hard case. On first view, I thought the price quite reasonable, but with the non-original pickup and filled in switch hole, I'm not so sure. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1980-Aria-Pro-II-SB-...=item230a832744
 19.
Here's the one I bought, not seen anytone else selling them though...
I remember posting that advert on here, many moons ago. The bass looks like the Shine. I did try to buy a Shine violin bass off someone here, but we just couldn't synchronise timetables for me to go and buy it. It does look a reasonable chunk of bass for the current cost.
 20. Thanks Mr Foxen.
Antoria Les Paul. Always get itchy bidding fingers for these, for some reason. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=270641866628
Something puts me off this one. Not that a LP bass is high on my list of things to buy. But this one has really old looking metal, the bridge looks a bit "Victorian engineering", and the whole thing just looks a bit unappealing. Of course, for those who can restore instruments, those may not be problems.
 21. Is this Japanese? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BC-Rich-Eagle-Bass-1...=item45f5a8323e Edit: Mystery switches!
 22. "Seymour Duncan" "Ibanez"???????????
 23.
Worth a watch, certainly. The other no-reserve one topped out at £510.00 plus £30 P & P.
I was thinking it might go for £600 or more. My own bid is something like £207 or so. Can you guess why I'm not concerned about posting my max bid in public in cased I get shilled? I can't justify spending £600 or so on a bass right now. Edit: Weirdly modified Antoria. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ANTORIA-FENDER-JAZZ-...=item19bfb6d933
 24. This is local to me and came up on my local area ebay search. Interesting thing to see, but I'm not sure what I would do with it if I bought it!
 25. SB1000 in case. Looks very nice. If I win it for my ridiculous lowball bid, you can bet I'll travel to where-ever it is in Lincolnshire to pick it up biggrin.gif http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=140459010053
