1. The 12 string I bought for someone else isn't as bad as I thought. Peering at the putative G string through my glasses, I decided it was slightly thinner than the B and E strings, so I tuned it up. Carefully. It got to G without breaking, and doesn't feel too tight. I replaced the other string that looks like a D with an actual G string, and that's tuned up as well. It sounds very rich when played acoustically. BTW: I thought that my four string fretless acoustic had the dots in the correct places for a fretless, except way up at the dusty end where they were a bit off. I'll use the tuner to check ... yes, my dots up to the 12th fret are in the right place for a fretless. I don't know why Tauzero's dots aren't. Camden Rob: Happy New Guitar Day, even if it's for someone else. Yours is the first quilted progressive bass that I've seen someone buy. It looks better in your photo that shows it off than the photos on the Thomann site.

3. I have received my first order with the deko 12 string. Now, this is an odd one. Fit and finish perfect. Action is IMHO excellent. Natural acoustic sound is fine. Easy to play, I think (I'm not used to 12 strings and had trouble finger style, but I think that's me, not the guitar.) Single 'D' stamp on the neck. Electronics work fine. Not the best sounding pickup, but it seems to work well with effects. (I had it going through a Zoom B1xon.) So, what is wrong with it? Well, it's a 12-string, and it has four D strings and no G strings! EDIT: I'm pretty sure, they look identical, and have the same tension tuned to D.
4. Strange. Mine doesn't. I've read a review of a 'Progressive Bass' that does the same thing. It must be a wiring problem. The owner of the Progressive bass installed a micro-switch to turn the preamp on and off. T'would be tricky to do to an acoustic, however. EDIT: I have received a Facebook message saying that my friend who works for Parcelforce has a package for me!
5. Reviews of the progressive basses have been mixed, but I've seen a lot of positive ones. One package of my order is out for delivery now, but the other one seems to still be in Cologne
6.
Thank you! Edit: Or should i say: ありがとう
どういたしまして。
7.
Deko alert! Black Acoustic still there. Small amount of Fretless acoustic http://www.thomann.d...tic_ba_deko.htm and some classical guitars. http://www.thomann.d...51_4_4_deko.htm http://www.thomann.d...51_3_4_deko.htm
It might be possible to convert that 3/4 sized classical guitar into a ukulele bass. If anyone actually wants to. EDIT: The acoustic 12 string deko I bought for a friend has arrived in the country. So maybe it might be delivered tomorrow.
8. Just popped up now. http://www.thomann.d...tic_ba_deko.htm Along with one of the lower spec classical guitars. http://www.thomann.d...0ce_bk_deko.htm EDIT: Looking on the mobile site, I see this: https://m.thomann.de/gb/rockys_pin_e_bassgold_plated.htm?o=6&ref=mrl_a_6&search=1437921635
9. Fretless. My program hasn't picked it up yet. I haven't had time for a rewrite yet, but this shows that I should.
10. かなり綺麗なベースです。あたらしいベースの日で、おめでとうございます。
11.
Maybe I could learn to play left-handed..
String it upside down and move the strap button?
12. DEKO! LH Acoustic Natural bass back again. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_30_nt_lh_deko.htm
13. Welcome to the Harley Benton 7 string world. Happy NBD, and enjoy!
14.
I'm still waiting for a 7, or 8, string guitar to pop up. Then I'll be done with them...
All things come to those who wait. We were waiting for months before a right handed 12 string guitar came up.
15.
You can gaurantee that the day after you buy the black on a natural one will become available...
Beat me too it. I was going to write "I presume that you are familiar with Murphy's Law."
16. I seem to be free of this. My current purchase from Thomann includes four instrument cases of different types and shapes, but no new basses. Is it sensible that I've bought a case for my deko fretless acoustic that costs almost half as much as the bass did?
17. Odd, they seem to have dispatched my order as two separate packages.
18. Happy new bass day!
19. Looks absolutely fabulous. Enjoy!
20. Dekos might be a reasonable strategy in case of bass hoarding. In that they only cost £20-50 each, so there is less financial damage through buying a lot of them. Unless you have to build an extension to your house in order to keep them all. It looks like everything is sold out now, except for the left handed Jazz Bass. And the black acoustic bass is still available. But, it does look like we managed a good haul from this batch. Who was it that wanted a four string fretted bass, but they wanted the natural one? I feel your pain at having the black one available for so long, but neither hide nor hair has been seen of the natural for a long time. My parcel-force employed friend was very pleased to hear of the shipping confirmation email. It's most likely going to be him delivering the next batch to me. I've asked him to leave it with me for a day or so, so that I can check it.
21. £18? Spendthrift! Congratulations on the shipping confirmation.
22.
The electronics were a major let down though - passive humbuckers wired up to 2x 25K volume pots?! Should be 250K or 500K surely, and the output level is woeful. Going into a boost pedal into the B7K though and it sounds immense - I have a Darkglass preamp waiting to be fitted to it that should give it a proper kick up the jacksie.
I have an older Rockbass streamer. IMHO it sounds much improved through my graphic eq pedal set up to give lots of boost as well as tone shaping. The bass here looks fantastic IMHO. Pity it isn't set up, or possibly even constructed, properly.
23. Shipping confirmation received, including the deko 12-string. Splashpocalypse has been averted. EDIT: BTW, as with Andy, the guitar was showing as 'on request' when I ordered it, but I have confirmation. My habit of forgetting that I have a cheap effect added to my shopping basket has continued, there is a pipe bomb compressor coming my way.
