I think that many of these have a low F#, or go even lower. I feel no need to have a string lower than B, so would string it B E A D G C F Bb Eb if I owned it. That would cover the full range of bass up to an including 'guitar' range as well. (Given that most guitars don't have 24 frets).

This is probably a better bass, and has the advantage of an extra string. But, I think the Fanndec looks much nicer. I don't like the horns on this bass at all. I've seen this several times over the years. Previously someone was trying to sell it at much higher prices, and getting 0 bids. I remember your bass uke, and can't remember anyone else getting a worse item. I know that some people don't think it's reasonable to buy a deko and then return it under the consumer contracts regulations, but I would have done so in your case. On the other hand, as a cheap thing you can practice doing stuff to it. That's why I bought my Deko PJ.

I'd expect that this would be very nice to play. But, IMHO it isn't the most beautiful 9 string bass ever. Maybe I'm being fussy, but if I had something this up-market, I'd prefer that it looked better than this. I once contacted a seller of a Westone Thunder who was saying "RARE RARE RARE". They said that it was rare compared to a Squier. There were about six Thunders up on eBay at that time.

[/quote] I think the consumer contracts regulations gives you 14 days to decide that you want to return an item, rather than the seven days that the old distance selling regulations did. So, you should still be in time for that if you find something seriously wrong with the bass.

@uncle_psychosis - I've done that. Put something in my shopping basket and then realised that I didn't need it. @Left Foot - I hope you get the PJ and it works out for you. Acoustic basses still there, after a whole night.

I have the MK1 G2M. If I play, sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn't. I'd guess that's my playing not being clean enough or not. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Congrats Owen. @BigRedX - couldn't you take a flat malleable piece of metal, bend it to match the fretboard, then use it as a curve to draw a line onto graph paper? Just guessing here, I'm no expert at that sort of thing.

The deko disappeared within a minute, along with the L500 LP copy. EDIT: CLB now gone. Back to normal. Not a bad batch of instruments IMHO. I was expecting the t-bird to be quite popular here. Anybody get anything?
