1. That really does look nice. Happy New Bass timey-wimey thing.
2. Strings. It needs strings. Happy NBD!
3. Kapa SG bass. Never heard of the brand. But IMHO this doesn't look to be worth £195 to my yes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kapa-Short-Scale-Bass-Vintage-MIJ-/201301797670?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ede85ab26 Given the previous bass posted here, this may be going from the sublime to the less than sublime.
4. Nice. What did you fill the fret slots with?
5.
Can't upload! Did try - honest.
www.tinypic.com? Send me the photos by email and I'll post? I'm still thinking about that HB60 WB that I let get away. But head has ruled over heart.
6. @BigRedX - how would you compare the Yamaha to the YouRock Gen2?
7. We could have some fun by creating all sorts of conspiracy theories about this one. I wouldn't be surprised if they are batching updates for quiet times. That wouldn't quite explain why the updates sometimes happen during the day however. It could be that they hold updates in a queue, so that they don't happen all at once and make the website non-responsive. (Effectively they would be DDOS'ing themselves). That would explain why the updates happen at seemingly random times. I wouldn't be surprised if an organisation the size of Thomann did have people working 24/7, and that was the time that someone actually entered the new dekos into the system. @Bassassin - the Ibby 760 taking the niche that the HB Deko could take is a blow for Japanese made basses of previous decades getting one over on new dekos.
8.
Oh, I like that a lot. Quite relieved it's sold out!
If I didn't have my Ibby SR760 as my 'work' bass, I would have snagged that HB. However, how many four string fretted basses does one need? IMHO the HB sounds really good too. According to youtube videos. I like that 'tubby' short scale sound, as Ed Friedland describes it. I was very tempted by the similar Eastwood Classic 4 for a long time.
9. http://www.thomann.d..._60_wb_deko.htm semi-hollow 60s style bass. Edit: gone. Was available for half an hour. I was tempted, but I'm thinking about whether I want to save my music allocation for a Yourock Gen2 MIDI controller. And I'm still waiting for a deko ukulele. (I may wait forever and buy a non-deko )
10. That really is a bargain.
11. Congratulations RickyV. Another person has played the deko lottery and won. (Though, most people do seem to win).
12.
But you did know that, didn't you?
Erm, no I didn't. I'll now be prepared should that question turn up on an afternoon quiz show
13. I had a quick look. What's with the KFC buckets on the heads?
14. Can someone summarise for us who are busy at work?
15. Four string fretless acoustic is back. http://www.thomann.d...tic_ba_deko.htm I have one of these and am very pleased with it. EDIT: I didn't notice it get listed, and on checking my records it was listed at 1:16am this morning. Good to see it is still available hours later. EDIT: Half an hour later, gone. Anyone get one?
16. Now we know who is buying all those Rickenbacker basses. Good to see that he can still play after his arm comes off.
17. In my experience it took a fair while for the bass to leave Germany. But, delivery was quick once it arrived in the UK. BotB - I don't have a gig-bag for mine.
18. If it is possible to sell a signed bass for that much more than the basic bass is worth, then it would be a well paid job buying basses and stalking celebrity bass players to get them to sign it. It reminds me of the person who had Noel Gallagher sign something like a bolt on Epiphone Les Paul Special II cheap. The seller wanted £2500 for it.
19. Pearloid tele http://www.thomann.d...arloid_deko.htm EDIT: Gone within seconds. I thought that things had been hanging around for at least minutes recently. EDIT: Five string acoustic bass now gone. There are now no right handed deko basses available.
20. It's herd instinct. Even though the PJ is not officially I should be thinking of buying, I have been tempted too
21.
Ten to five this morning. Sure you weren't checking for Deko's AT
Ten to four! I woke up and then went back to sleep again. My program was still checking automatically. Returning to the topic, I don't think I've heard of anyone buying the HB PJ and being disappointed.
22. I've never heard of a 'challenge' brand bass. £329 seems an awful lot for an unknown brand Beatles bass, unless there is something that I'm missing. http://webshop.cashconverters.co.uk/auction-item/831777/challenge-vp-violin-bass-hofner-beatle-bass-replica
23.
£1000. REALLY?!! I honestly wouldn't pay more than £20 for this shower of s***e. But then again the price of a bass directly corresponds to the amount of strings. MOAR STRINGZ = MOAR $
As posted before, I also believe that the £1000 bid will not be genuine. But, in the meantime until it gets delisted...
24. Oh yes, black pick guard. (Please excuse time of posting. I feel asleep early exhausted from the week, and then I woke up NOW).
25. Happy New Basses Days
