  1. Love the Player maple necks. Mine has the 75th anniversary badge on too. I have to ask - where did you get that pickguard - Black Pearl / Abalone? I want one! GLWTS
  2. Chris bought a pickup / wiring loom set from me, paid up quickly & was great to deal with, thanks

  4. Oh wow! What a colour. It’s a shame they don’t do a Precision in some of the recent Player jazz colours like Aged Candy Apple Red, Blueburst, Greenburst, etc. I just remembered where I recognise this colour bass from. Christian from Slowdive has been using one recently. They look fantastic. GLWTS
  5. Mike sold me some Fender pickups after responding to a wanted ad. Arrived quickly, well packed & as described. Many thanks
  6. Very nice lightweight Jazz build. The Player necks are great. This should make a great bass for someone. GLWTS.
  7. @Nice Guy Rich Sorry to hear that. It’s bad enough if this happens occasionally, but to happen repeatedly shows a total lack of respect for everyone else in the team. If this was a job, he’d have been sacked a long time ago, yet because he’s a volunteer thinks it’s ok to mess people about. As much as I guess you like to have a full band, I’d rather not have a drummer than one who takes the pee like this guy. Time for action surely?
  8. Lovely. I believe the weight can vary massively on these, with some around 10lbs. A sub 8lb model is a great find if someone is looking for one of these. GLWTS
  9. @Dov65 Thanks. The Players represent great value for money. This shouldn't be here for long. . .
  10. Free bump. The Player basses are great. Don't hesitate folks. GLWTS.
  11. I'm not much of a Jazz or Sunburst man, but this looks awesome with the nitro finish. Heard great things about the Highway One basses. Surprised it's still here. GLWTS.
  12. Have a free bump on me. The Player basses are fantastic and anyone on the fence should get off right now and buy this. They have lovely necks and are generally lighter than USA models. Some tasteful upgrades there. If you don't mind me asking, which model of Hipshot bridge & tuners are these, and are they 'drop-in' replacements? I've read that tuner upgrades are a good way of shedding weight, but am yet to change any over myself. Thanks.
  13. The Incredible Hulk bass is back! What is the weight please? Thanks
  14. These are outstanding quality. A bargain for someone here. Shouldn’t be around for long

    Feedback for ikay

Sold some P pickups to Ian. Paid up quickly and was great to deal with. Thanks!
  16. SOLD P-bass pickups from a Matt Freeman Squier precision bass. Bought from here and never used due to project which didn’t happen. I believe this is a nice vintage-sounding (rather than modern) pickup. Please note this sale is for pickups (with foam, plastic covers & wires) only as shown in the photo. No screws, pots, etc, included. There is a little bit of sticky residue on top of one plastic cover which I’m sure could be easily removed. £20 posted.

    GILLY

Second transaction with Will - bought an Aguilar Tone Hammer from him. As described, well packed & quickly received. Top Basschatter and no mistake!
  18. Different issue but the flashing pick advert at the top of the page does my head in. Can’t it at least be steady? Anyone else hate this too?
  19. This is incredibly annoying on Safari for iPhone users. I too hope it gets sorted soon
  20. Just been thinking about preamp/DI boxes that have headphone & Aux inputs. With the likes of EBS, Ampeg, TC, GK, Broughton, Laney, Mesa, Genzler, and now Aguilar, offering headphone / Aux inputs, don't you agree that the likes of Tech 21 and MXR are lagging behind in this area? It's becoming more of a crowded marketplace for sure, but I wonder if either of those have something in the pipeline in this regard. More bassists than ever seem to be using IEMs or needing a swiss army knife preamp/DI with headphone / aux for silent practice, so whilst there are plenty of options out there, I'm also a little surprised that some companies are yet to offer anything as such.
  21. Just spotted this. It seems they missed a trick here, in that it seems like a very clean preamp/DI. A second channel / footswitch for some drive / distortion would surely have been better, they could've still had the Bright and Deep options as buttons as well. It's good that they added headphone / AUX inputs, but a dirt option would've been excellent on this. . . like a scaled down Tone Hammer, with XLR out where (IMO) it should be, facing left.
  22. For Shure IEM users: Is there a knack to removing the earpieces from the cable without breaking them? I feel a bit silly admitting this (but I really don't think I was being heavy-handed). . . as the left earpiece of my SE215s was cutting out frequently for a while, and getting worse, I decided to remove it, with the idea of putting one on from a spare set at church. As I gently squeezed, twisted & pulled the detachable earpiece away from the cable, the 2 plastic halves separated and kind of snapped, with bits flying out. If my earpiece wasn't broken already, it certainly was now! Fortunately church provided a new set, I mean I guess these things have a shelf life, and I'd used them regularly for 4 years or more anyway. Something I still want to do though is try out all the different sizes of earpiece, to really see which works best for me. So I thought I'd have a go with the remaining earpiece of the broken set. The exact same thing happened. As I gripped the black foam sleeve (which turned to mush as I did so), to pull it off the earpiece (trying to be even more careful this time), the clear earpiece just broke apart. So, both earpieces broken. But at least I have a spare cable now! The thing is, now I'm scared to pull the black foam sleeves off the new set in case it happens again, yet I could really do with fitting smaller sleeves on them. It's frustrating that these things are so delicate. So, what is they key to removing the black foam sleeves (or whatever your chosen sleeve is) from the earpieces, and removing the earpieces from the cables on Shure SE215s, without breaking them?! Also, as I like the sound of the SE215, but am not keen on the chunky ear loop part of cable when listening in bed, I've just bought some Shure SE112 earphones (solely for listening to music, not for playing bass through), I haven't read up on this yet but I presume it's just the grey silicone earbuds that come with them, that fit this model. I even feel scared to pull those off to try the different sizes! Thanks. Oh, and please tell me that someone else has broken an earpiece trying to take one off the cable, or take a sleeve off an earpiece!
