  1. Fantastic gig for us. The bands first trip to Aylesbury - home town of our guitarist, so very well attended. Venue (I believe) is fairly new. Called The Petri Dish, It's a rennovated shop on the high street, but done really well. We play originals, but to pad out to the requested 60min set, we added a few covers. One of them being Staring at the Rude Boys. We found out a couple of hours before doors open Ruts DC guitarist Leigh Haggarty would be in attendence. Cue squeaky bum. I played my Nate Mendel P bass through and Orange Bass Butler through my Little Bass Thing effect return through Orange 2x10 & 2x12. Great venue, great sound, great crows, great night.
  2. What area are you?
  3. I really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing. I only fonished reading his book last week, so great timing
  4. We played the Birds Nest in Deptford last night. In the lead up, I was getting some anxiety over the thought of driving from Buckinghamshire to South London. It did take almost 2.5 hours, but the journey was nowhere near as bad as expected. It was my first gig with my new Orange Bass Butler pedal. It sounded fantastic. Need to rework my pedal board and get the tuner pedal back. The clip on tuner is nowhere near as good. The band didn't play too well, but we went down a storm. If we go back, I'll use my back up guitar- there was beer and bodies flying around the front. Drive home was a swift 67mins, and was a dream in comparrison. I was woken up early by my kids this morning, no doubt I'll crash this afternoon...
  5. I'm in Public Service Announcement (PSA). You missed a good night. Free entry and the place was rammed.
  6. Punk Birthday gig in Hemel last night. Suprisingly well attened considering the Acton lot also had a birthday Bash, The wingmen were in London and Dropkick Murphys were at Wembley. The guys running it are putting a huge eeffortto turn this pub into a venue. Stage sound was really hardwork, stage monitors were either feeding back humming or feeding back making it very hard tohear the other members, but we went down well with the crowd. Sound man is new and he is re-doing everything next week and it will be easier next time. Bands were fed with a mountain of pizza and loads of free drink. Never been looked after so well. Looking forward to play there again in April when we'll be support XSLF
  7. I'm doing a gig next week and the TE 715X is available as house backline. I normally bring my own rig, but wondering if I can plug my Orange LBT into the speak bypassing the TE head. Looking online I see a speakon socket on the back... Thanks in adv
  8. First gig of the year last night at The Fighting pink torpedos in Kingston. Used my Orange LBT head and venues GK cab. Lots of compliment over my tone, which was much appreciated. I've been thinking about swapping out my sansamp VT Bass DI for an Orange Bass Butler, but all the compliments are now making think maybe I should just save my money and stick with what I have...
  9. Rehearsal and gigging is my social life! Like you, I have to enjoy the company of the other members. If rehearsing and gigging isn't fun, it's time for me to move on....
  10. Going out socially with the band tonight. Trip to the pub to welcome our new drummer. The members all get on really well, but we don't go out together often as with rehearsing once a week, gigging roughly once a month, work and a young family I find it hard to find any more time. Just wondering, how many people here meet up with band members socially? If not why not, etc etc
  11. Thanks. Does daisy chaining effect the Ohms like running in parraell??
  12. Thanks @DGBass. I spoke to Orange directly and they confirmed thr fx return will indeed bypass the compressor.
  13. Stupid question. How will you use 2 cabs? Doesn't the Elf only have one speaker output? If so, will you go amp to speaker 1, and then speaker 1 to speaker 2? Thanks
  14. I currently play through a Tech21 Sansamp vt bass di, and that goes in to the input of my Orange LBT. Does anyone know, if I were to put my sansamp into the effects return to turn the orange into just a poweramp, would I also bypass the amps compression? Thanks in adv
  15. I've got a gig the Escape Bar next month, glad to hear it's a good venue. Thanks for the tip on the house bass amp - sounds like I should bring my own.
  16. Hey, my lot played that stage at 6pm on the Fri. We had a brilliant time and were well recieved. Loud cheers, people singing along and a decent amount of merch sold. The chap running the stage complimented my rig and bass tone, which felt great.
  17. Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
  18. Quadrophenia - The Who Earth vs - The Wildhearts Overkill and Ace of Spades - Motörhead I'd love to of added Machine Head by Deep Purple, but I never want to hear Smoke on the water ever again. The rest of that album is pitr perfection.
  19. Did you try this pedal? Any good?
  20. This is a great point. If the organiser of the event isn't running a safe event, it's time to stop the show
  21. I don't think so, but I'll check with the other - thanks.
  22. My band are playing a festival in a couple of weeks. For the fist time ever, we've been asked to provide a certificate of our public liability insurance cover. I know next to nothing about insurance - but I assumed it would be the festival to provide all required insurance cover. Any one know anything about public liability? Thanks in adv.
  23. I did a few gigs with a cover band and the singer insisted on having her ipad as a saftey blanket. The problem for me wasn't the ipad itself, it was the dead time between songs as she fiddled with the damn thing or attempting to slow down or speed up the app during the song to match the bands speed. Having an ipad in stage is one thing, but the endless farting about with it was just ridiculous.
  24. We use Teamup as well. Everyone is responsible for updating with their unavailability. If the teamup calendar says no one is unavailable, I book the gig.
