9. 10 Sept 2010: This bass is now sold. Thanks. Faster than the Ricci - go figure... G&L Legacy 2500 – 5 String: Classic US made Bass Guitar Up for sale is my stunning year 2000 built G&L Legacy 2500 5 string bass – this is the US model – not the Indonesian Tribute version. It's up on eBay @ £950, but to one of you guys *as a weekend special* (price goes back up Monday!!) i'll take £750 cash for a super quick sale....and I'm open to offers - but no trades. Cash is King, here.. Those who know bass, know this to be Leo Fender’s last take on the bass, built in Fullerton Avenue, California. A truly awesome bass, with an immense palette of sounds thanks to the huge twin MFD humbuckers, active/passive switching and strung thro body (tho you can run it ‘off the top’ if you prefer less sustain – the custom build G&L bridge allows for both. **&at £750 it's a he'll of a lot of bass for the money!** In used, but excellent condition, and comes with its original G&L hard case – its just survived a month long trip from Canada & come thro unscathed. I really want a quick sale as I'm expecting strong interest in this, and I'd definitely like to sell in the next couple of weeks. So if you have any questions, please let me know quickly on 07753 821525 or by email. Details: Made c. year 2000 US handmade G&L Legacy 2500 bass guitar in natural 'high gloss' finish over the Swamp Ash body. The build quality is excellent – all very solid & it feels like the quality instrument it is. I bought this bass for my personal use, direct from it’s previous – and original - owner in Canada, but in the intervening months my life has been turned upside down & right now I need the cash for a business project. The natural high gloss finish on body in particularly stunning and pretty much ‘as new’ even after c.10 years. The maple 6 bolt neck & maple fretboard shows some wear, but consistent with having been played over its life time, but there is no damage to the bass. There is some ‘flaking’ of the chrome on the control knobs – but a new set can be obtained direct from G&L (I was going to) or you can leave it to show that kind of ‘grungy’ vintage/worn look some people like.. I can supply a set of black knobs within the price if that floats your boat… The demand for G&L instruments is rising steadily in the UK as people appreciate their value (Bass Direct have now been appointed as their official UK dealer) so this will at worst hold its value, and at best you might have a nice little investment for the future. Condition : Excellent - the bass shows some marks from general usage, as shown in the photos, but they just add "character" really – Any questions, just email me. Any other "marks" in the photos are just wood grain or camera reflections, but if in doubt please ask. I think the bass looks just fabulous – if anything the grains in the wood look much better ‘in the flesh’ than in the photos. All the controls & electrics work perfectly - no issues - the bass is clean, very straightforward & has been well cared for. The bass sounds fabulous, a HUGE range of tones, rich & powerful, and she plays very smoothly - the neck is straight, with a comfortable feel - the bass is nicely set up & ready to play. The bass is well-balanced, and a good weight at about 9lbs / 4kg. Case :- the original G&L fitted hardshell case is included, as shown. All catches & hinges work fine, and generally Excellent Condition, inside & out. If you're looking for a versatile instrument for playing, and or potential investment, at a sensible price, this USofA made G&L L2500 could be the one for you. Personal collection is welcome (either in Arundel, West Sussex or Andover, Hampshire), or Courier delivery (it will be well packed & fully insured) :- UK £30.00 "next day" or Europe £75.00 "3 to 5 days". Please contact me for delivery outside Europe.

I christened her 'The Mighty Red'.. It’s a really cool bass, with that classic Ricci sound – and has great investment potential too... Its in excellent condition, and comes with its original Rickenbacker case. I started this off at £1895 (& in a fair market its worth every penny, IMHO) and its now on the Bay for £1595, but to one of you guys, i'll take **£1495** and at this price for a quick sale as I'm hoping for a LOT of interest in this, and I'm definitely looking to sell in the next couple of days, so if you have any questions, please let me know quickly on 07753 821525 or by email - I'm sure it's going to find a new home very soon !! **If you want to make me an offer on the price... try me...** Details: Gorgeous 1975 Rickenbacker 4001 USA bass guitar in rare & desirable Burgundy Red. The build quality & look are top class, and, naturally, the sound is classic Rickenbacker, ringing sustain, treble punch & solid underlying bass, great variation possible via the pickup/tone controls - I bought this bass direct from another local collector/player back in May to celebrate my 50th year, but now need the cash for a business project. The Burgundy Red finish on maple body in particularly stunning with maple "through neck" & rosewood fretboard. The values of vintage instruments like this one have risen strongly over the past year or so, well ahead of inflation, and with low bank savings rates, demand is likely to continue to rise. Condition :- Excellent - the bass shows some marks from general usage, as shown in the photos, but they just add "character" really - the tuners show some tarnish, but they operate smoothly & with precision - the switch tip missing in the photos has been replaced with a genuine Ric part. The colour & the overall look is well represented in the photos. More are available if you want to see them – just email me. Any other "marks" in the photos are just wood grain or camera reflections, but if in doubt please ask. I think the bass looks just fabulous. All the controls & electrics work perfectly, and there are no issues - the bass is also very clean, it's very straightforward & it's been well cared for, pretty much just stored away in recent years. The bass sounds fabulous, a wide range of vintage tones, rich & powerful, and plays very smoothly - the neck is straight, with a comfortable feel - the bass is nicely set up & ready to play - the frets & rosewood fretboard are excellent & the overall look is particularly striking - the bass is well-balanced, and is a good weight at about 8.8 lbs / 4.0 kg. Case :- the original vintage fitted hardshell case is included, as shown - some marks, but all the catches & hinges work fine, and generally Excellent Condition, inside & out. If you're looking for a collectable 1970's Rickenbacker 4001 for playing, display or investment, and at a sensible price, this could be the one for you. The colour, condition & immense sound make this particular bass a very special & desirable instrument. Personal collection is welcome (the bass is currently in Arundel, West Sussex), or Courier delivery (it will be well packed & fully insured!!) :- UK £30.00 "next day" or Europe £50.00 "3 to 5 days".
11. Forum rules mean you now have to state a price, matey. PM me - I might be interested. That's one evil colour! ;-)
12. bought Mark's Lakland 55-01 from him March 2010. Excellent transaction throughout. Mark was a pleasure to deal with, accurate description to start with, always good & speedy communications & more photos readily supplied on request - incl photos of him packing up the bass, just to show how well he was protecting it! (& it was an A1 job, I have to say!) this bass exceeds my every expectation - it's totally mint, just like da man said! Happy to thoroughly recommend MarkusWarwick to all you good people! Thanks, Mark! Marc
13. schnozz - you should make it clear in the title/descrip that this is FRETLESS! (altho' the fretboard is lined as shown in the pics) GM
14.
to be honest mate, if you're lookin at a Lakland, you know exactly what you're getting. Superb tone, sustain, response, everything about it is top notch. Only reason I'm gettin rid of it, is that I have no use for a 5 string. Amazing bass though. G+L are good, but for sheer tone and playability they just dont compare (*I say that having tried one while shopping for this). Its a different level, honestly. As I say though, You know what you're looking at when you seen this ad. A Lakland is made to the highest standard. It feels, looks and plays the way it should.......and a little more........................But then, its upto you..........................
ok, right, i here ya! tell me more about 'switchability' - what options do you get - I see they're 'split coil soap bars'. But essentially, as I read it, this is a Korean built, US finished bass. Seems they ask top $$ for it.
15. that is such a good price for this strung tho' body gtr.. If only I could sell my granny I'd be there man. But right now I'm on an economy drive. dont you just love posts like this 'i love your gtr, but I cant afford it' what a waste of time,.. so go on, tempt me - I had a G&L L2500 USA which I bitterly regret getting rid off - how would you say this compares? the G&L had 2 $$buckers, active passive switching, single/double pole selection, plus 3 (if not four) way pre-amp. C'mon, give me the hard sell!
16. one of these was up for sale on here recently. It went. Same to see it go to a charity shop! I've got a S D Curlee licensed by Hondo - nice little bass. not worth much, but I'd never part with it. Ever. Had it professionally set up a little while ago & was thinking about changing the p/ups. The luthier said dont, they're pretty good.. So it is as it is!
17. One more here, but in Exile in Hampshire. Also in mourning. Until Rafa goes, its RIP LFC.
18. somebody buy this & put poor Oli out of his misery! ;-)
