The standard Super Bright Steels are brighter than the MM versions. Dr Hi Beams are probably the brightest string out there. D'Addario Pro Steels are also a good option if on a budget.

Solo the neck pickup, tone knob to suit. Add some mids on the amp and turn the treble down slightly - pretty much there. Played in rounds help as well.

To me they're pretty much unplayable - really floppy light gauge strings that you can't slap on, dig in or downtune. I think Super Brights 40-100 are the next step up at least in tension terms.

See, I only thought they were slightly higher tension than TIs. They have more of that classic La Bella sound going on - i.e. what a flat should sound like. They're super smooth and a dream to play. Think I only took mine off because I needed rounds or just wanted that SS punch again.

DR Sunbeams/Hi Beams, Dunlop Super Brights and SIT Foundations. Remember - tension and flex are two different things. Flats are the same tension as most rounds but they flex much less than rounds because of their construction.

Can confirm these are the danglies - I gigged with one of them over the summer when Grahame was kind enough to let me try them out. Even with one cab at the gig it was way overkill! Every note just cut through right. I had no problems hearing myself at anytime. Two cabs are terrifying, a truly awesome rig. I passed on these because they were a bit hi-fi for my wants but that is no criticism. If you want loud, portable, lightweight, superbly built, clean punchy cabinets then snap these up pronto.
