Hi Beams for £20 delivered direct from Amazon. I've ordered multiple sets over the years and they are the real deal. For DR/Ken Smith/Fodera/La Bella strings, I use Bass Specialties on eBay. The prices have gone up roughly £5 over the last four to five years but they're still cheaper than the UK. No import duty either since the seller knows what he's doing. Regarding Rotosound, I'm a fan. Their customer service is second to none. I had a dead string on arrival once and they sent me not only a replacement but a whole new set. I really like the Roto Bass nickels and think they age very well. They cut through a mix and have a really good mid punch to them.

You may not like it (or him) but this is the style you have to adopt now to acheieve 'sucess' on social media and make serious money off of it. I know it's not your proper version of bass playing etc. etc. but he appeals to the kids and the kids are making him money. How many people here would watch his video 'Can you play Korn with Corn?' Yeah... silence. Don't watch his channel then.

Remember - there are a lot of people under 16 commenting on these videos. Even under 12s.

£139 at Gear4Music If they could reissue the Civil War Muff circuit with that paint job in a nano enclosure and add a mid knob then I would be in heaven. The GR doesn't need a blend knob IMO, just the mids.

Took my bass to the same branch for a restring and set-up years back. Specifically asked for the bass to be set-up once the restring had happened. Came back a week later and they had only done the restring. What about the set-up I asked? They then said I didn't request that. Never again.

Good tips. My GR Muff volume set at 9 o'clock is already past unity gain but in the mix is just right volume wise with the tone around 10/10.30.

A new set of DR Fat Beams just came through my letterbox. If you want steels that are broken in but still retain all of their SS punch with the flexibility of roundcores then these are perfect.
