2.
Andy Fraser's Gibbo from 'Alright Now' and whatever Entwistle used on 'My Generation'.
One of Entwhistles Jazzes is for sale at Vintageandrareguitars - POA but if u have to ask then...... Phil Lynottts precision from the cover of 'live' and dangerous BB
3. WH Smith up here occassionally have them but as the man says you have to be quick and to hunt for them. Anyway my point being here when you do find one check the subscription rate, I've noticed lots of magazines the subscription price can be far less than the cover price(even if it is only for the first year) I remember buying the American mag BASS and the subscription flyer saved 70% on the cover price but sadly didnt extend abroad (ie here) I thing there is a website that deals with subs to almost any mag PS a sub to ur favourite mag is always anice gift!!! BB
4. God, I had forgotten that. Henry 'King Thumb' Thomas wasn't it? BB
5. I think I remember one where some Bird was being taught the drums (quite informative) and the info trailing across the bottom of the screen saying that Bass lessons were coming up next (need them!) but waited and waited..............then got infomercials for crap but no bass BB
6. That's mighty tasty but the last few I've seen have gone for a lot less than that Nice facings though! BB
7. Where's me link gone?????? Ah, bythesea has stolen it! Thank you BB
8. Another Ian/Pete Classic for sale......Luvverly! BB
9. I thought most of their s/h gear was getting sold on commission hence pushing the price up? BB
10. I thought that was going to say
spot on, according to "the fender bass: an illustrated history" - 'Jez is talking bollocks.....'
11.
I used to hang an onion from mine which was the fashion at the time. Anyway, about my washtub. I just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a walking bird. We’d always have walking bird on Thanksgiving with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, and yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we’d all watch football, which in those days was called baseball.
If you dont start making more sense, we're gonna have to put you in a home...... BB
12. That is a total belter! If only........ BB
13. I feel like a total d*ck - I have seen that tons of times and never realised it was a strap button!!! BB
14. No not mine, i had it in my watch list just to see what happened - it's a sunburst i am after. Fenders are a mystery to me, I would like a nice vintage precision but, as you can tell, I would probably get stiffed if the neck had been totally refinished could that just be botched replacement decal? Bb
15. This didnt attract any interest at all - which I am surprised - am I missing something? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=270402048792
16.
The bass looks good. The thumb rest is in the correct position for the year. '73 '74 was a transition period for the whole thumb rest thing. But I do think its way over priced. This one ain't too bad. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1973-FENDER-P-BASS-P...emZ190311352678 Not 100% original but it wouldn't bother me.
Not trying to hi-jack Happy Jack's thread but this one does it for me but what difference would/could the replaced pots make? I suppose irt could depend on the parts used even if it was genuine Fender parts? BB
17.
I was planning to take mine with me ...
You'll need an asbestos flightcase then? BB
18. What about Rowbees Squier Jazz???? (in for sale section obviously) BB
19. I have them all photographed with a note of the serial numbers etc and current value (in case of fire /burglary) and my daughter knows, if I peg it, to stick them on eBay, or indeed on here, for sale and what to expect to get for them. I am 47 and on Tuesday last my best mate from school ( although we had lost touch since then) dropped dead from a stroke so it can all come sooner than you think. BB
20.
It's better looking than most Warwick designs......
Jah! You vill regret saying that, British swine! Vot is your name? BB (Grupenfuerher)

24. I am desperate for a steiny but money is the old problem. I know I should probably buy a Status slipstream but there is something about the original Steinbergers all the best BB
