  1. I didn't get on with rounds on mine at all. The world would be a less interesting place if we were all the same though
  2. It's early days with mine, I've had it only a couple of weeks. I didn't like the sound much with the supplied roundwound strings, but with flats on it I'm much happier. I've found a couple of tones that I like, and the rest of the band have given it the thumbs up. Plus in Pelham Blue it looks fantastic ETA I'm a big lump so the size isn't a problem
  3. I'm pretty sure if you listen carefully you'll hear that it's "ooh, ah, kiss you in the military". Although to make it fit he has to sing it as mil'tree.
  4. Yep, nice set of old flats on it now, though it was supplied with rounds
  5. If I mentioned that it's 3.6kgs? There seems to be a long wait on Pelham Blue
  6. It'll be coming along with me on Sunday
  7. Ordered this back in May and it's finally come through. Very pleased with it. Just waiting for the case now
  8. I spent ages coming up with something clever for a Norfolk based politically-progressive country band. The rest of them hated it so we're named after the beer we were drinking during the discussion
  9. No worries 👍
  10. I could do you a special deal on your old Reidmar if you'd like to buy it back?
  11. Michael, I could do you a special deal on a Reidmar. Can't vouch for the guy that had it before me, but I've taken good care of it
  12. This, very much. Though I'd call it a day when Berry does.
  13. If we're on cheese, I'll add the Faces' classic: Under dreaming spires To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been I got high (What did you feel there?) well, I cried (We'll try the cheese there) tell you why
  14. The silks are black, which I think is correct for the Deep Talking Flats? They're free to a good home if anyone wants to try them
  15. I'll second this. Many thanks to @Reggaebass top bloke 👍
  16. Thanks 👍
  17. Good point, thanks
  18. That's really kind of you 👍 I'll drop you a message
  19. I think it would take more than that to make me even a mediocre player!
  20. Indeed! I suspect the set of La Bellas I have is defective given what others have said on here.
  21. Good question. I've just checked and they're 45-105 too, so I wonder if I have a rogue set Maybe not fair to try selling them
  22. Thanks everyone, much appreciated
  23. Wow that was quick! Many thanks 👍
  24. Bit of background: I've always had just one bass, but after it simply stopped working at a rehearsal on Sunday I'm going to get a backup. Most basses seem to come with roundwood strings, but I'll want to change these to flats as soon as possible. But which ones? I know the strings on my current bass are 45 - 105, but have no idea what make they are as they were already fitted when I got it. The silks are red but that's as much as I know. I'd happily get another set if I knew what they are. I did try a set of La Bella Deep Talking Flats, but they were very low tension and I didn't get on with them at all. They're still sitting around somewhere but I'd prefer not to use them. So, what would you recommend for a higher tension set of flats? It's for country rock on a precision. Thanks for persevering through my ramblings. Andy
