  1. I’ve had edge mounted jacks for years, occasional issues with stands, but nothing that bothered me too much, just buy the right stand. However, my 2 most recent basses have front mount and I must say that I now much prefer that position. OK, it’s not terribly elegant looking, but I do find it more practical.
  2. Well… they are all grey. Whether you think grey counts as a colour is another question.
  3. Well, up to a point, more of a paraphrase and they were quoting a propaganda poster from the Spanish civil war era. Actually, I grew up in a house where yodelling was to be heard emanating from the gramophone, my parents owned a Frank Ifield album that featured it, so I’m a little less sensitive to it and, like @Frank Blank, I find it quite amusing in Focus tunes, a bit of whimsy in otherwise quite ‘serious’ music.
  4. I maintain my position, there are plenty of of other tracks by AC/DC one can choose from, no exceptions. Remember, if you tolerate this, then yodelling will be next.
  5. Nope, no exceptions, you let one through and then you’ve set a precedent. Harsh I know, but it’s for the best. Really, how much?

    Where’s the Bongo?
  7. Absolutely. Add to that, he was actively touring and seemed fit as a butcher’s dog, it really came as a bolt from the blue, at least for me.
  8. Part ex. Yes, I’m an enabler .
  9. You wanted a British luxury, niche instrument (that's what an Aston is, with some Mercedes and Saudi interest) and you were given Status. Job done, case closed.

  11. See, tempting the GAS gods to make something available that you just can't resist; there lies trouble. Everything I have is of a very high quality too, but then I see a Hardly Bent One that looks so pretty and is, by default, cheap and boom, GAS (no, not that sort)! Beware the GAS!
  12. That’s the kind of statement that will ensure that something will appear that you can’t refuse. Tempt the GAS gods at your peril.
  13. Never! It does take a lot of getting used to, but I found the effort worthwhile. TBH, I tend to avoid the ‘70s output where Ged’s voice was the most shrill and have found my Rush niche in the ‘80 - early ‘90s era.
