  1. Hmm, without any specific requirements to guide my hand, probably a Fender, if only for the resale value and most likely a Performer Mustang. However, I am tempted by the headless, short scale, Ibanez offering (swap out those pickups for Nordy Big Singles), but the big F still wins the day if only one is allowed, for the reason stated.
  2. Run, Rampant Rabbit, Run! - Flanagan and Allen
  3. Replace the volume control with a blend pot and you're laughing IMO.
  4. Only A Fool Would Say That - Steely Dan
  5. Hmm, sturdy, lightweight and compact folding are probably counter indicative terms (although they may exist, but probably at a significant cost). I have spindly, fold up thing somewhere, but definitely only for home use. When using one live (yes, I know, but sometimes needs must, especially for short notice deps), I used a bolt on one with a mic stand.
  6. 🤣 I wonder what Reverend think of the body shape? At the money, it’s a good score and at least it’s little things that can be easily fixed.
  7. +2 (SBMM Shorty ‘Ray & NS Design WAV 4 upright). None out, but next year could well see 3 go.
  8. When I first started playing bass, it seemed as if my music collection grew massively overnight as I became far more aware of the bass on the recordings. Have a listen to yours and hear what the bass is doing, especially rhythmically, it’s not a bad way to learn your new role. Add to that the techniques available as mentioned in the online resources mentioned by @lownote and you should be well away.
  9. Pacificas are fabulous guitars at every price point, this one looks very nice. GLWTS.
  10. Not to mention a pain in the wallet come string change time.
  11. Season’s greetings everyone.

  12. I’ve just had to learn that for a new band. Jacob’s Ladder - Rush
  13. And how piste off some folk were/are/will be*. *Covering all my bets there.
  14. That’s what I’d surmise. Link to the BD LaBella page https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/LaBella_Flatwound_strings.html
  15. Ooh, tough one. Of the 3 purchases I made this year, they’re all very different and all do what they were purchased for very well. Bass wise, I guess my shorty ‘Ray, as this has convinced me that short scale is the way forward for me (says the man who just acquired a 42” scale bass ).
  16. The 760FL LaBella’s are long scale. 17. The definition of insanity is expecting any thread on BC to stay on topic throughout.
  18. Plenty of mature (at least in years ) types here, you’re amongst friends.
  19. I was wondering about this mod myself today. Yeah, that works, that really works. Now I want one!
