  1. Ooh, ooh, ooh! Larry Klein. How could I forget Larry?
  2. Contact them by email, not everything that is available as an option is on the website.
  3. I’m guessing this would be possible as a custom build, you just need to ask them.
  4. You’re Moving Out - Carol Bayer Sager
  5. The single coil selection on the shorty ‘Ray (neck facing coil) gets quite close to a P tone.
  6. Fantastic basses, either fretted or fretless. They are ridiculously light and easy to play. GLWTS.
  7. I barely pick up my long scales any more and I've become disenchanted with fretless too. Shorties with speed bumps is the way for me at the moment. I'm seriously contemplating selling my 2 Maruszczyk custom builds (33") and my Rob Allen MB2 (35")!
  8. I’ve not used them myself, but the Loxx system looks like it might not stick out as much as Schaller or Dunlop https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Loxx_Locks.html Conversely, you might try a non locking solution such as the D’Addario/Planet Waves elliptical strap pin https://www.amazon.co.uk/Planet-Waves-Elliptical-End-Pins/dp/B005FKF3L6 I have these on a guitar and they’re rather effective and low profile.
  9. The Casino is an easy one to pick up as it’s reasonably loud acoustically, due to its hollow body, so is more responsive without having to plug it in. However, swap out those pickups pronto, as they’re not good at all. I fitted a pair of Artec P90s and, despite the low cost of the Artecs, the difference is like night and day. Because of the difference in the height of the treble pickup on the Casino, you may need to source a shim to raise it to the correct height for even output between the two, unless you reuse the original covers. Sorry for the guitar talk, as you were.
  10. Earlier today (much because Planet Rock is so sombre at the moment), I dug out the live recording that came with the 40th anniversary edition of Moving Pictures. Damn that's a fine live album!
  11. My favourite bit on that album is Devin Townsend shouting, “Shut up! We know you can play,” priceless. 😂
  12. I suppose that’s the mark of the session player, easily overlooked. But yeah, he’s a monster, much like Nathan East, who I forgot too. Here’s a player we’ve overlooked so far - Bob Glaub.
  13. Tony Levin Pino Lee Sklar Sean Hurley Chuck Rainey
  14. The Pass is the one for me. The first chords are hairs on the back of the neck time.
  15. Clockwork Angels has some great tunes on it but I find Nick Raskulinecz’s mix awful, a complete mush with little separation. IIRC there was a remix of Snakes & Arrows that was warmly received, as the original release suffered from the same mushy mix, I hope they do the same for CA.
  16. Rush’s Presto and Roll The Bones are both seen as dreadful by a lot of the Rush fanbase. However, whilst not maybe their best, I find them both very pleasing and better than some of their other albums.
  17. Arrested for Driving While Blind - ZZ Top
  18. Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed - Thin Lizzy
