  1. I’m Only Sleeping - The Beatles (again)
  2. Do You Want To Know A Secret - The Beatles
  3. Looked like just a cab though, but then I guess all the amps were, at least for the most part, stage dressing and they’d be going direct or through a modeller. I'm not jealous (I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous, repeat until envy abates - could be a while).
  4. I follow Viv on Instagram, so I’ve seen a few posts about that one. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd8zVQbsImN/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  5. I only watched it to see a friend of mine who was singing in the choir (I did, several times) and to see if Jimmy Sims was using the Wilcock. It might’ve been our TV, but I found the mix dreadful, way too much ambient sound. They should’ve just taken a board feed IMO. Whilst no one really shone, I found Rod particularly dreadful and I would remind Lloyd Webber that The Mousetrap has been running for 70 years too; it’s not all about musicals you effete, platitude* laden, berk. Given the nature of the event, I think they should’ve had more British acts (Jones the Voice would have been a decent addition for instance) rather than those from the former colony that kicked out HM’s forbears. *I’m quite pleased to have shoe horned that in, given the thread title.
  6. Hans Zimmer’s bass player was using a P. Same guy as for Celeste?
  7. Jimmy Sims (absolutely top chap) is playing bass for George Ezra at the moment. He hasn’t had that lilac Mullarkey very long at all and it’s gone straight into service. Great to see one of Viv’s basses on such a high profile stage. Unfortunately, this will do nothing to make them more affordable for me .
  8. Sneakin’ Sally Through The Alley - Robert Palmer
  9. I’ve had 5 ‘Rays over the years: USA SUB, US 3 band, US five string (should have never let that one go), Sterling ‘Ray34, Sterling ‘Ray SS.
  10. Short scales are the way of the future, Trav.
  11. The pickup position is the key to the ‘Ray, IMO. They always sit well in a mix. My current shorty is nice and light, a breeze to play and tonally very versatile with the series/single/parallel switching. Gratuitous photo…
  12. Going To A Go-Go - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
  13. There seems to be another thread you might want to add to (if you haven’t already).
  14. Needle and the Spoon - Lynyrd Skynyrd
