  1. From the picture, it looks like a high nut might be adding to the issue. "Set up nicely," but for whom? One person's low action is another's unplayable. What is the measurement at the 12th?
  2. We have a winner!
  3. Perfect for playing The Doors or The Kings of Leon songs.
  4. Eighteen and Life - Skid Row
  5. That looks the biz! Changing the pickup cover makes a huge difference. Ooh, what’s that? Oh yeah, GAS!
  6. Well volunteered there. I look forward to the result.
  7. I remember when I first bought my old Schroeder 1212L cab to go with my LMll and how disappointed I was with the sound at home, very middy and harsh. At the next band rehearsal it all made sense. My current PJB rig has much the same mid focussed sound, but without the harshness (I can add that to taste via pedals if required).
  8. Ooh, very Schrödinger. Bass ownership as a waveform? Interesting concept. I must try that out the next time a box appears/doesn't appear.
  9. It’s the very video that persuaded me to acquire an MB2.

    Hello

Plenty of folk here willing to help where possible, not just bass related either.
  11. Rocket Man - EJ
  12. I’m In love With A German Film Star - The Passions
  13. Easy (due to the small number compared to some), 5 basses, 2 acoustic guitars, 2 electric guitars. TBH, I could easily pare this down to 3, 2, 1 respectively, maybe even less. Despite this recognised need for less, this doesn’t stop me GASsing for various other stringed things.
  14. That's the Way (I Like It) - KC and The Sunshine Band
  15. Sounds like a short in the circuit somewhere. Check the pot and jack tags aren’t touching the control plate or shielding perhaps?
  16. I Don’t Want To Go To Chelsea - Elvis C
  17. That went on hold very quickly, although I’m not terribly surprised. I heard a new clip of one of these on IG the other day, just wow!
  18. It looks very much like MM modified a cowboy belt to me. However, Pinterest may be your best bet. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/286682332504674176/
  19. I had a fotoflame Strat (yeah, I know, pitchforks and flaming torches to follow), it was an absolute boat anchor for a skinny stringed thing, definitely Les Paul territory. I dread to think what the equivalent bass version would’ve weighed.
  20. He is an @rse, great bass player, although I’ve never rated him as a singer. However, AP isn’t exactly a barrel of laughs either, not known for his laissez faire attitude to money. My favourite of them was always Ted Turner, quite the hippy, with an interesting approach to guitar and had the best voice in that line up too. I also have a lot of time for Laurie Wisefield, another great player with a reasonably pleasant voice. I’ve seen the various, latter day incarnations of WA more times than any other band and I’ve always left underwhelmed.
  21. Friends of mine were in a WA tribute together and one of them is quite friendly with Andy Powell, so they followed the trial quite closely. Martin Turner was on a hiding to nothing, he even represented himself saying something along the lines that he didn’t believe in lawyers, in the the court no less. He lined up Upton, Turner and Wisefield as witnesses, but AP still won the day easily and I think MT declared himself bankrupt. All very messy.
  22. I'm going to go with no, as I don't know what HCBF stands for. The EZ doesn't stand for easy, it a surname abbreviation couple with, er, bass. I wish I had never chosen that as a username, but hey ho.
  23. Not the SBMM ones, I don’t know about EBMM.
