  12. Relatively speaking, this puts it in the Rickenbacker 4003, bridge position (or as near as damn).
  13. One of many contenders for the BC motto
  14. In contrast, my first bass was a BB300, which I swapped with a flatmate for his Westone Thunder 2. It wasn’t long before I ripped the frets out and started to learn my favourite Pino lines. I seemed to take to it really easily, the lines helped I guess. Including that one, I’ve had 5 fretless basses and one EUB. These days I tend to play fretted more as I fell out of love with the tone (mainly the ‘80s typical sound), but I’m starting to come back to it. My 2 fretless basses are a Rob Allen MB2 and a custom Maruszczyk ElwoodL (a Stingray alike), plus the NS WAV.

  16. Go for it. I assume I’ll receive a piece of the action, a race horse receives a bag of oats, after all. No? Ah well, it was worth a try.
  17. Not even slightly! I appreciate that you think I have 24 months of GAS control, but I mean to flex my buying muscles this year (now watch me buy nowt).
  18. Damn their black souls! Nice score.
  19. We thank you for your stewardship, sterling work. As to the ride, well, it's been emotional. Outstanding work by Trav here, truly impressive. As to Mudpup, a proper WTF happened there? So, so close.
  20. Stunning! Both humbuckers in series was the tone for me.
  21. I really wanted to enter something this month (as I did last year) but my remix idea included recordings from a while back (pre ‘24) so wasn’t in the spirit of the theme. Congrats to the winner 👏👏👏.
  22. He didn’t come to help, he came to encourage. The more I play recently, the more I realise my preferred tone is in the Geddy/Squire/Foxton camp. Whilst I know I can achieve this with a Mustang or Precision through an SVT/VTDI, I really want a 4003s again, but a walnut one for the reduced weight. Damn you GAS 😡!
