  4. Looking For Clues - Robert Palmer
  5. If it was anything like the time my band played The Corn Exchange, I know where you’re coming from.
  6. I’m Still Waiting - Diana Ross
  7. Millennium - Robbie Williams
  8. If you’ve located the missing piece, I’d just superglue it back on. I had a Tele, where the string spacing was off (too close to the treble side). I removed it, moved it over, filed back the overhang and built up the other side with superglue. Solid as a rock, hasn’t moved or had any problems since.
  9. Dirty Cash - The Adventures of Stevie V
  10. Massager of ego, provider of possibly illicit wares. Maybe not so much the band tour manager, that’ll be the proper logistics guy.
  11. I shall take myself outside for a good thrashing.
  12. Ah, I think you are correct, I’ve gone off half cocked I’m sure @Owen will confirm shortly.
  13. Inconsiderate is what I call it . There’s a walnut 4003s (I need the lighter weight) about 4 hours away from me, which makes riding out the GAS a little easier.
  14. The drop out to just drums and bass @5:05 is sublime.
  15. Not this one it seems. Edited for accuracy.
  16. We do a good quantity of Jam/Weller tunes in my current band, the opportunity to employ a raging SVT tone is always welcome, even though he used Marshalls (Ashdown these days I think). I’ve played them on a P, a Mustang and my Maruszczyk J type (split, humbucking, single coil sized p ups, front selected), they all sound spot on, but I’d still love to try them on a Ric (sold my boat anchor 4003s some years ago), so iconic.
  17. Voted, but doesn't seem to have helped in splitting the pack.
  18. A P Bass would’ve been fine, but needs must.
  19. Can Yew Dig It - The Mockturtles
  20. We’ve had a wee festival locally, over the weekend. One of the rules was no flags, no banners. The other thing that grinds my gears at these big events is folk who feel the need to be on someone else’s shoulders; it’s just inconsiderate for people behind.
  21. It was a great sound! I didn’t like the Casady as much as the P, not quite so in your face. A bass with a P pickup in the normal position through a Tech21 VTDI will get you where you want, without the need for a chiropractor after, it’s what I do .
  22. Quite possibly the venue is at fault here. I used to use a Sandberg Basic VM, with an LM2 through a Schroeder 1212. A marvellously punchy rig that always delivered, until one gig where, despite all the usual settings, it was inaudible to me. Tried shifting the eq around but without any success. Next gig, different venue, all back to normal, IIRC. Such are the vagaries of venue acoustics and bass frequencies it seems. Doesn’t stop it being a huge PITA.
  23. Inspired by this thread, I thought I’d do a bit of catch up on iplayer, whilst doing some chores. For me, it’s like an extended, outdoor version of Jools’ Later, without the boogie woogie - all a bit meh. Just listening to Inhaler’s sub U2 performance (it’s genetic I guess), that P bass through the SVT is marvellous, what a roar!
