    NJBD

Everything I’ve played from the Vintera range has been good. It’s nice to hear that this is still the case. Happy NJBD!
  2. Oh, I like that - a lot! I hear Yes, Flying Colours and Dream Theatre in there, all of which is good. I saw John Young playing keyboards for Quango (basically Asia without Downes and Howe) many years ago and they were excellent. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Gah! That’s annoying. However, this… I’ve only just noticed the lollipop tuners - cool! (I’m a recent convert to these)
  4. That was my thought, but I reread @Dood’s post in case I’d missed something and I think the recording in question is Yes.
  5. I’ve had albums change my musical life. Made In Japan introduced me to hard rock, I disposed of all my pop albums and went down the rabbit hole of heavier music. Before that, CSNY’s 4 Way Street and Neil Diamond’s Hot August Night made me want to learn guitar. Later, hearing Pino made me want to jump ship from skinny strings to bass. As I then pursued different musical avenues after these events, my life changed in that respect.
  6. Shoreline Gold is such a cool colour. Given my aesthetic preferences, I shouldn’t like it, but I absolutely love it ever since I saw it on a Roscoe Beck Signature.
  7. I suppose it depends on your body shape, but I’m 6 foot, 85kgs and have medium sized hands. Speaking of ugly… 😆
  8. I think Burns’ biggest problem is their love affair with the big, poorly shaped pickguard/electronics housing. The Mustang makes a lot more sense when you have it on a strap, the elongated, slab body suddenly works, with you hands falling, comfortably into the ‘right’ positions, any contouring would be superfluous (well, for me at least). It even looks better being worn, rather than when standing alone.
  9. I wonder if one emailed Roger, you could source such an item? That looks very nice @lonestar, certainly looks how they should’ve been released from the get go. How’s the weight?
  10. Burns have some form in the UBG stakes: Although, I also find the Fender Mustang and G&L Fallout’s looks into the challenging category and I own a Mustang.
  11. Jet Silver & The Dolls From Venus - Bebop Deluxe
  12. Agreed, all the sleek beauty of the normal T’bird bludgeoned (probably the wrong adjective) out by a blind, bandsaw operator. Better suited to powering a canoe.
  13. I moved house last year but had to put most of my possessions into storage over the winter. Admittedly, this was a professional storage warehouse, but not one of these personal lock up affairs, this was in great big wooden crates, in ceiling high racking, doors open to the elements and not heated AFAIK. I put my basses and guitars into their gig bags and those into cardboard boxes. I took about a turn off of each tuner and had them stacked flat. 6 months later, I was reunited with them and it was like nothing had happened. I offer no specific advice, this is just what I experienced in the last year. I wonder how basses and guitars are stored by manufacturers and distributors?
  14. How could I forget Live & Dangerous?
  15. Secret World - Peter Gabriel Made in Japan*/Europe - Deep Purple Bursting Out - Jethro Tull Bob Marley & Wailers Live Woodstock - Various Four Way Street* - CSN&Y Hot August Night* - Neil Diamond Live Dates - Wishbone Ash You Can’t Argue With A Sick Mind - Joe Walsh Live In The Air Age - BeBop Deluxe Live At Caesar’s Palace - Tom Jones (I grew up with this) Slade Alive - Slade *These albums changed my musical life when I heard them.
  16. There’s a five stringer available in the for sale section at the moment.
  17. Great album, Pino and Steve Jordan holding it down. Having got into a ‘Top 20 Albums’ type conversation with a friend, I will probably be listening to one of these shortly: So; Ah Via Musicom; Physical Graffiti; Sunburst Finish; Continuum; Argus; Bad Co; Moving Pictures; No Parlez; Rio; Regatta de Blanc; The Royal Scam; Gold Plated; Crosby Stills Nash; Rumours; Robben Ford & The Blue Line; Lean Into It; Houses of the Holy; Us; Communique.
  18. And an element of the Mk1 Wal. IIRC, Viv Wilcock is very open about his influences. I played a Mullarkey when I was Mustang shopping and if my budget would have stretched at the time, I’d have ordered one. Viv’s posts on Instagram are the very thing GAS is made of. https://instagram.com/wilcockbasses?utm_medium=copy_link
  19. I so very much want one of these. White with a roasted maple neck & fretboard. I’m most envious. 😍
